Re: The Virgin
I went into the hospital for a lung biopsy. First night afterwards I was there they came with a cpap machine and a nose mask. I was loaded up on morphine and could care less that night. Next night they brought me the current machine I have now and I took it home with me. MY o2 level was dropping to ...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!
I had large numbers of obstructives and was given the DS 750. They cranked the pressure up to 17/13 and it has stopped them. I was having one or 2 every minute in my sleep study. Now my AHI is usually below 2 for the whole night. I do continue to get Centrals though (4 - 8 a night sometimes) and I w...

Sleepyhead is free (money wise). It only costs you the time to download and install it. Get it at https://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/. Its good for Windows and Macs and Linux too. Look at your numbers and know them so you aren't at the mercy of your DME. Kinda like kids, if you know where t...

I was in your shoes 2 months ago, Was given a data capable machine and now look every day or so. I can tell when I do good and when I do bad. Download Sleepyhead software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/. It will work on both Windows and Macs. Once you have it downloaded and install...

Don't put it next to an open window, I did that last night and I woke up in the middle of the night to the smell of skunk.

Re: Good Numbers but poor sleep
I take 3 daily with the last one at 5 or so. I have to spread them out.
I can't (or shouldn't) drink with the meds I take. Besides when I do drink, I sleep worse then I normally do.
We won't even talk about last time I took vocoder for pain. AHI of over 16.

Re: Good Numbers but poor sleep
Meds, yes most in he morning but 1 auto immune suppressor about 5 pm every night. I noticed a change as I started taking that as it can keep me awake. About 2 hours after taking it, I get serious hot flashes and break into a serious sweat. Lots of fun.... I am a light sleeper and have wake up most n...

Good Numbers but poor sleep
A month into sleeping with a hose I have a question. I have always slept poorly. I wake up a lot. Last night was one of those nights, looking at the clock every 30 minutes, tossing and turning and generally sleeping poorly. I have had no issues adapting to the mask and hose and I keep it on all nigh...

I am having the same issues with my IMAC and Lion. I have opened a bug with Mark.
You might try going to preferences and turning off Multi-Threading. Didn't help me but its worth a try.
Look at BreatheJimbos Mac post and see if that can help you.

Does anyone us a Contec CMS 50-F Oximeter with Sleepyhead ?
I am looking at buying a recording Pulse OX meter and I want to be able to use it with Sleepyhead on Mac.
Does anyone use the CMS 50- F as opposed to the CMS 50 E ? Does it integrate in with Sleepyhead ?
I can move data from my Windows computer to my Mac if need be.
Thanks

I got my preliminary sleep study done while in the hospital for a lung biopsy. I kept setting off o2 alarms and they brought me a machine that very night that I went home with.
Later on I had a formal sleep study. Not knowing nothing, I got lucky with the machine they sent me home with.

Re: How to get over CPAP psychological block?
Of course you can do it my way... I had a lung biopsy and the first night I was in the hospital my alarms kept going off for low o2 levels. The respiratory technician brought a cpap machine and mask in an slapped it on me. Shortly after I got a shot of morphine. I could care less about anything that...

Re: ELECTRIC BILL
Agree with the others, I think the CPAP was barely a blip on the bill. I'm a little more concerned about the O2 concentrator that kinda sounds like a machine that would use a bunch. I have not noticed a noticeable change in my electric bill since I started to use the concentrator full time. Maybe 1...

Leak questions
Hello again, Still trying to understand how I am sleeping on this new contraption attached to my face. My dog has definitely decided that she wants nothing to do with me while I have my mask on. Anyway, I slept great last night, only up 1 time for the dog and 1 time to turn the heat up. AHI of 0.81....
