Re: Mask indents?

Hi all, Thank you so much for taking the time to post replies. Love the 'brown nose' comment! The point about water intake is very pertinent for me - I do not drink a lot of water - now I have a good reason to correct that. It is always so interesting reading the posts, I always come away with so mu...

Mask indents?

Hi all, I have been using a nasal mask for the past few months now and feel I have finally found the mask for me, having tried several. I also use the padacheek cover which I think is great. Thanks to a lot of support from here, I am much more confident about it all and was feeling quite settled with...

Re: Help, which FF mask?

The Quattro FX has been my ffm of choice now for about 2 months but as noted previously, mask fitting varies from one face to the next. I have not changed my face cushion yet. My insurance company covers 1 ffm face cushion replacement per month. I also recommend Padacheek mask liners. I have been a...

Re: Help, which FF mask?

Why haven't you tried the mast rental/trial for $14 a mask over at Cpap Library? Their link is http://www.cpaplibrary.com/mask-trials.html ... hell of a way to save cash and try out a bunch of different masks and find the one you can use without breaking the bank. May I ask why you are using a FFM ...

NotSleepingBeauty wrote:Do a search on the forum for "Taming the Mirage Quattro", or someone who has been here longer may give you a link. I use the Mirage Quattro. You need to fit it while laying down... Good luck!
Thank you. I actually went there and decided that the Mirage might work with that support!

Re: Help, which FF mask?

Wow, thank you so much for all the responses. I am in Australia. There are sleep clinics and suppliers of masks and equipment, but it is not covered by our medicare system here - I don't have private extra insurance, so I am up for all expenses. The suppliers here (till recently) have had a captive ...

Help, which FF mask?

I know this subject has been covered countless times and I am sorry for the repetition. I have done a search but am just confusing myself even more. I am going to buy yet another mask this morning - this is getting expensive. I have the Phillips Fit Life full face mask - hated it, got claustrophobic...

Re: Newbie Update

Sounds like a great attitude for making it work. I am sure you will have it nailed down soon. Good for you for being persistent. Many give up. Does the calendula ointment you mentioned touch the mask? I remember reading that anything other than water based products would break down the silicone. I ...

Newbie Update

Hi all, Thought I would update on how I am going. This is my fourth month on the Resmed. At three months into it (and the usual adaptation issues, such as mask type, leaks and fit etc) things deteriorated somewhat. I developed a nasty cough overnight, with sinus congestion and soreness. Having read ...

Re: New here - introduction

Janknitz, Thank you for such a comprehensive response! I am feeling a lot better, having had a bit more sleep over the last couple of nights. I took your advice with one adjustment at a time and gave myself humidity the first night of 1. The coughing was less. Last night I raised it to 3.5 and had m...

Re: New here - introduction

Mary, thanks for your response. Here in Australia, there are 'sleep clinics' that doctors refer to for sleep studies and subsequent diagnosis and machine set up. What I didn't realise that the sleep centre I went to was a "Phillips" sponsored clinic. They only promote Phillips products. A fellow apn...

Re: New here - introduction

Thank you very much for the welcomes and advice.
I think I will try the full mask tonight. I am so very tired, having had very little sleep over the last few nights with all that damn coughing.......

I am so glad to have found this group, that much I do know.

New here - introduction

Hi all, I have been sitting here reading posts, at 5am in the morning (Australia time!) because I am having trouble sleeping. Having trouble sleeping due to excessive coughing, nasal congestion and dry throat. I spend my days as though I have chronic hay fever sniffling and sneezing. I have been on ...
