Re: Data corrupt?

I figured out what the problem is. The SD card connection is defunked. Now it isn't even registering that I put an SD card in. Time to call my DME and tell them. I'm sure I'll be getting hell for it. DME "How do you know it's not writing to the card?" ME: "Because I check it daily." DME: "You're not...

Data corrupt?

I've been using my machine for several months now, and have been checking it daily with Sleepyhead Software, and occasionally Encore. Well the last two days the data hasn't been working right. Two days ago, it appeared to only partially download the data. Check out the highlighted circles below. The...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

I'm happy to report my numbers have been around 6-15 for the last several weeks. Yeah, not fully "in control" but far better than when I started this journey. I see no point in going through the hassle and money to try for an ASV at this point. Things are going well and I'm seeing a slow but steady ...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

Ok, so I had an apt with my GP yesterday and much to my surprise (sarcasm), he wouldn't fill out the Hopkins referral. He stated that since I was already under the care of a sleep center, I would need to go through them for anything sleep related. I said that I wanted it for a second opinion, but he...

Re: Very high AHI, yet feel great

I am in a similar situation as you. I'm currently on a bipap and having fluctuating AHI. I tried using melatonin for a week and the second night I was on it, was the first and only time I was below 5 AHI. It stayed low for the first few days then back up around 15 AHI. Last night I stopped using it ...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

Oops, I updated the info. Male, 34 years old. I live outside of Baltimore, MD. Let me clarify about that time frame. In late October, I developed severe fatigue, increased blood pressure (I've been stable on meds for a couple of years), and decreased basal body temperature. The fatigue issue was not...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

Avi, I'm working to get my GP to refer me to some specialist, but in the mean time, I would like to do what I can to decrease the centrals. It took nearly 2 months after I was diagnosed with sleep apnea before I even could get a machine. I'm not assuming a specialist would say it was idiopathic, but...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

Night two of my trial wasn't quite as good. I continued with the 9mg dosage and went to bed much earlier than the previous night (I was up fixing my computer the night before, that's why I only got 5 hours). For most of the night, everything went great. But about an hour before waking, I started a r...

Re: DME Automatic Replacement of supplies ??

You're receiving new nasal pillows every two weeks?? That just seems ridiculous to me. They can last much longer than that. How much are they charging you for them?

Re: No longer able to sleep in since on CPAP :(

During the week, I wake up at 6am. I used to snooze the alarm a couple of times, and slowly force myself out of bed. Since getting hosed, I'm usually waking up a bit before 6 and just lay there until the alarm goes off. Even on my days off, I'm waking up well before 7 and wide awake.

Re: DME Automatic Replacement of supplies ??

My DME's policy is that they call to verify it is ok to send out supplies. I was told they will want to replace my Swift FX pillow every 6 weeks. I don't know if this is typical, but I'm at 6 weeks right now, and mine is in great condition. I got a call less than a month in use, and the lady said it...

Re: Reduction in Blood Pressure?

I'll second the resistance training, but will recommend an alternative to brisk walking/jogging. I'm an avid runner and over the last few years, I've become a run/walker. Basically, I structure my running into intervals. Typically I do about 1:30 of running to 1 minute of walking. This method really...

Re: Reduction in Blood Pressure?

I've been on a machine for about 6 weeks and my blood pressure has been great. That being said, my sleep apnea has not bee controlled well with the machine. In fact, last night was the first night it's actually been "controlled", meaning an AHI of less than 5. I think the biggest improvement came no...

Re: Picking up my BiPAP tomorrow. Wahoo... hopefully!

I think I may have found the answer to my centrals. I can't be for certain as it's only one night, but last night marked the first time since going on a xPAP that my AHI was actually "controlled". What is this mysterious thing that worked some sort of voodoo magic to keep the centrals away?? It's me...
