Red Mark on Nose Bridge

I got a Respironics ComfortGel FF mask and would like to start using it full time instead of my Swift FX, but it's leaving red marks on the bridge of my nose. I see there are some options out there, the Pad a Cheek Nose Bridge protection and the Gecko Nasal Pad for example. Any thoughts on which is ...

Re: Travel CPAP?

I travel with my S9 autoset. I can travel with it, I just was wondering if there was something better. When I travel, I'm gone 3-4 nights in a row in different cities every night. It's also somewhat bulky for some of the nightstands. Just wondering if a travel-sized machine would be better, or not ...

Travel CPAP?

For those of you who have a "travel-size" CPAP, is it that much smaller than a normal one, such as the S9?

Also, somewhat related, does insurance usually allow you to get another machine at some point? Or would I be on my own if I eventually wanted a separate travel machine?

Thanks!

Re: Nasal Pillow soreness -- any suggestions?

I was getting a sore nose too, not sure if it's the same soreness though. What I realized was that my hose hanger above my bed was pulling the pillows up, which was causing me pain. I found I needed a lot of slack for it to be comfortable. I use Ayr Gel on my nose, before sleep and when I wake up if...

Re: I am very worried and need advice

Thanks for these replies. I'm sorry, I don't know alot about these machines. I've fixed my profile and it should display correctly now in my signature. My initial sleep test found 131 apneas/hr without a CPAP machine. Nine months later, after using the machine, my average AHI=28 at 14 cm H2O. I'm h...

Re: I am very worried and need advice

Two questions: what is the problem with your sleep? Are you sleeping but not feeling rested, waking up a lot, or not sleeping? Do you know why? I.e. uncomfortable, pain, etc?

Second question -- do you suffer from migraines? I do and it impairs my sleep, so I have medicine I take for it.

Re: Desperately Needing HELP ASAP

Ok..I pulled the hose vertical and shook it towards the machine and that seemed to work. I will post again if once I climb into bed and put it on if it didn't solve it. Thanks so much...you talk about someone having a near panic attack. My CPAP is my new best friend I hang my hose every day to ensu...

Re: Did you feel instantly better?

I didn't realize that I was that bad before CPAP. I've only been on it a few weeks, but there is a noticeable improvement. Granted, it's not every day. I often wake up feeling exhausted, but feel much better later in the day. I've had a few days where I've needed a nap (and taken one). However, I ca...

Re: Good price for Swift FX used 2 nights?

I had a leak problem with my FX the first night, turned out it was just the wrong size pillows. Swapped them out and now I can sleep with it quite loose with minimal leaks.

Ayr gel seemed to help my nose. Also, loosening the straps definitely helped too.

Re: Nasal Congestion - No FFM Yet

I second the NeilMed suggestion. However, I would use 2 packets (hypertonic solution) instead of one. It might unblock you enough to breathe somewhat better. I have the NeilMed, and I had to do both nostrils multiple times before I felt cleared up. What would the 2 packets do? I thought that was ju...

Cool, would that be good to mix them or just one or the other?

Nasal Congestion - No FFM Yet

Hi everyone, I'm having bad nasal congestion and trying to figure out what to do while I wait for my FFM to arrive (currently using nasal pillows). I thought something like the Essential Oils sold on Pur-Sleep, but I want something for tonight. Any ideas what I could get from CVS to help? Something ...

I don't have humidity and temperature set separately, I leave it on automatic. Should I separate it? I didn't want to mess with it so as to prevent rain out.

Re: ELECTRIC BILL

I know this will sound bad but especially if you live in California, do you remember how much your electricity bill went up after you started using the CPAP on a regular basis? I can't "see" my bill yet but it tells me the amount due. The amount due is $180 MORE than last month. The only real diffe...
