Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

Just to provide feedback,i lowered the pressure to (a steady CPAP) 6.6 from 7 and the leaks disappeared ! It seems the mask in combination to my face provides leak proof performance up until 6.6... So,after only 3 nights using the advice of this forum i returned to great sleep quality, proved by a 2....

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

The prescription was for 4-6 as the 6 was enough to eliminate apneas ,but the doctor told me this upper limit could increase as i changed sides or when sleeping in different positions (i only slept on my right side during the whole study) so he bumped it up to 7.He would go up to 9 if i hadn't told ...

Re: New Cure for Sleep Apnea

There's some problem with the physics here...a strap can only pull and not push...how can one pair of straps from the back and another from above the head actually push the jaw forward ? If anything they will pull it back and up ! (which is the opposite of what we want and the opposite to what is ad...

Re: MNewbie mouth breather ready to call it quits Part 2

I'm also a newbie and a mouthbreather and last week wasn't so good for me either. I doubt there's one user in this forum that at some point didn't come across difficulties with the machine/mask or doctor and didn't consider quitting. First, your mask isn't for mouthbreathers-if you know you are a mou...

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

I changed the pressure to a steady 7 and turned the EPR off and after about a week i slept really well again !!! The one thing i didn't expect was that i had more mask leaks, and an unhappy redish smiley next to the leaks report which i could decrease by tightening the mask a bit. This time i'll be pr...

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

Jamis, Correct,i didn't go through with therapy back then thinking i cannot use the machine at all.A couple of months ago the settings were much different,i told the doctor of the past problem and although i don't know how the machine was set,the graph of the study shows it went from 4 to 6 and elim...

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

I should be more clear about what i said earlier. I had tried an Autopap machine a few years ago during the sleep study with a setting of 5-16 and during sleep it would go to the upper limit or near and this would wake me up with the feeling i was drowning from too much air i couldn't inhale and i j...

Re: Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

Could you please elaborate on the 90% pressure ? How do i find this ? Does this also mean the range should be at least 4 (like 5 to 9 cm) ? I do experience the suffocating sensation, but not the leaks anymore. Also,in the past i had trouble with too much pressure waking me up (because the machine sen...

Great start,problems later on.Recommended solutions ?

Hallo,my name is Matt. I've been using my new Apap (Resmed S9-Quattro Fx mask) for a month now.The study showed an AI of 65 and with 4-6 pressure it got to 2 miraculously. The machine was set to work with a range from 4 to 7 cmH2O pressure. The first 2 weeks were marvellous. No problems at all, with lo...
