Re: Weight Loss and Cpap

Congratulations. I had a gastric bypass four months ago, am 25 pounds from my goal weight and still require my CPAP at the same settings as always. Conversely, my wife had a sleeve gastrectomy 10 months, is at goal weight and does not need her machine any more. Moral: It varies from person to person.

Re: AHI/AI skyrocketing after gastric bypass surgery

I'm down 80 pounds and am four months out from a RxY gastric bypass. I have not noticed any change in my pressures since before surgery and I'm less than 25 pounds away from my goal weight. My point to this is that you shouldn't be discouraged if you still require CPAP/APAP/VPAP treatment even at go...

I think that if I had 12345 posts, I would have to quit and not break the symmetry of it.

Re: How do you feel when you fall asleep without CPAP?

I haven't slept without CPAP since I was diagnosed. However, I have napped once or twice without it. Boy, what a mistake. Each time I felt as though a truck ran over me. I now hose up every time I sleep. I even keep a small unit at my office, in case I nap there.

OT: Anybody had installation trouble like this?

Several months ago, I was trying to install Rescan on my computer and received an error message stating that "ISScript.msi" was older than the version needed. I didn't worry about it because I had Sleepyhead installed already. However, I'm having this problem with some other programs that I am attem...

Re: So comfy, you forget you're wearing it?

I agree about the Quattro FX. It's been an extremely comfortable mask for me.

Re: Mirage Quattro FX FFM - Feedback?

Count me in as someone who really likes the Quattro FX. I must have tried five masks prior to this and I couldn't be happier. Minimal leak and very comfortable.

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks

Hi Beth0277. A number of the patients in my clinical practice have similar experiences of nocturnal anxiety. Although you are right in that people can experience anxiety attacks when falling asleep, in a lot of cases the events you describe may be more physical in origin. Of the past six people who ...

Re: Has anyone had success with the Quattro FX?

One other thing I forgot to mention: Before I put the mask on, I fire up my S9. I find I get a much better seal that way. I mention this because the instructions say to put the mask on first, then start the unit. I never got a good seal doing that.

Re: Has anyone had success with the Quattro FX?

I absolutely love the Quattro FX. I've been on the hose for a few months now and have tried nasal pillows (Swift FX, GoLife for Men v2), too much leak. I then tried a nasal mask (Mirage Activa LT) - worked great when I wasn't congested but I had to wear the bloody thing so tight that it was uncomfor...

Re: hard time sleeping with mask

My wife uses a hose holder and it works well for her. If the hose is long enough you might feed it around the bedpost, if you have one.

Itchy nose

I'm enjoying my Quattro FX mask. For the most part my numbers are very good. The only problem is that I wake up two or three times a night with a very itchy nose. Any ideas on how to stop this?
