Re: Reducing CPAP Pressure
Exactly because of how the number 5 is considered by the medical community. If AHI increased from 2 to 3, I don't know that I would consider it an issue that requires treatment. Disclaimer: I am not a clinician. First, congrats on the weight loss and being able to reduce the pressure a fair bit. Se...

Re: Reducing CPAP Pressure
In your place, I’d want to keep my AHI under 2-ish. This may all be moot pretty soon, though, because I think you’ll find you don’t like having your pressure at less than 7. Many people feel starved for air when the IPAP is less than that. Congratulations on the weight loss, by the way! Any tips on...

Re: Think I'm finished
Hang in there! It will be worth it! I attempted to use CPAP a number of times over the past five years but failed each time. I went thru several different masks but could rarely manage even four hours with the mask on before pulling it off. I felt utterly defeated. Earlier this year I ended up in th...

Re: Anybody on CPAP NOT have sleep problems?
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2011. The only symptoms I experienced were some tiredness and snoring. I had no problems with sleepiness during the day or insomnia, but I did toss and turn a lot due to joint aches and pains. I tried a CPAP machine and several different masks (many at my own expe...

Re: Need advice re hybrid
I tried the Innomed Hybrid Mask. I had to cut off the chin cup...I have a long chin and it just did not fit. I liked the mask except for one thing...the way the hose attaches. Any pull at all from the hose makes the mask move. At some point in time, I plan to try the Resmed Mirage Liberty even thoug...

Re: Another Resistance Control question
I definitely like using the white disposable filter during allergy season (which is in full blossom here in Georgia). I don't think they interfere with flow as long as they are changed before they become clogged.

Re: How often do you replace your mask?
My modus operandi has always been to order a replacement for each item the first time I am eligible for it. I keep it on hand and then don't order another until I use the first replacement I have on hand. That way I always have one on hand for an emergency, but am not just replacing things based on ...

Re: The second slept study (titration)
I know no details of my first study. You should ask the doctor's office to provide you a copy of the sleep study. If you are in the U.S., HIPPA gives you, with few exceptions, the right to inspect, review, and receive a copy of your medical records and billing records that are held by health plans ...

Re: Help Interpreting SleepyHead Data
Robysue, thanks for the very clear and concise explanation. I went back and checked my last sleep study done in 2011 and it showed 1 central apnea, 20 obstructive apneas and 50 hypopneas for an AHI of 30.3. Last night was the best night I have had since I have been back on CPAP for 5 weeks. My AHI w...
