I wonder if there was a vent on the hospital's hose.
If you no longer have a vented hose from the hospital, the mask should not be used.
Thank you.

Done deal - not using it.

Re: Nasal mask with no vent is dangerous??

There is some air being vented.

It's coming from this little slit of open space.

Not sure if this is an intentional vent or the pieces are just coming apart!?

Ok, that would make sense.

Re: Nasal mask with no vent is dangerous??

Sorry for the confusion.

I've owned it for 3 years but just found it in a box a few days ago.

I have NOT been using it that long.

Nasal mask with no vent is dangerous??

I have a 3 year old nasal mask - it says Phillips Resporonics on the front but no model or anything. I like it, but I'm concerned because I don't see any vent on it like on my other masks (and full face mask). Is this dangerous? Due to the excess carbon dioxide build up? I thought about it after I w...

Stuffed nose, stuffed ears, what to do

I've always had stuffed ears. I need to go to an ENT every year to get the wax sucked out of both ears (Sorry, I know TMI). But recently my nose has been getting clogged too. When I plug my nose and blow, it creates a pretty crazy pressure inside my head and against my ears. Seems that everything is...

Re: Should I be worried about getting sick from bacteria in cpap

I recently read an article online that a CPAP machine and hoses will collect bacteria and push it into your mouth, nose, and lungs while you sleep. This obviously scared the crap out of me. I only clean about once a month. Should I be worried about this? I have a Resmed S9. Also, what should I use ...

I'm also a little scared now because i've read that Clear Airway Apnea is Central Apnea and it's scary that my brain is forgetting to tell my body to breathe.
