Re: OT: Medicare
Asking for the price is a good start but I agree it really doesn't matter what price the medical provider charges it all depends on the specific maximum allowable charge (MAC) the insurance plan has negotiated with each individual medical provider. That's the hidden/mystery charge we as consumers ne...

Re: Medicare DME Fee Schedule for 2012
From my understanding about Medicare Advantage Plans is that yes they do take the place of the standard Medicare Plan. But what most people don't know is that Medicare Advantage Plans are individual insurance plans some are HMO plans while others are PFFS (Private Fee for Service) plans and that pro...

Re: New Swift FX Bella Mask.....
It sounds interesting to me. I'm just concerned about how the loops would work if you wear earrings. I wear the same small earrings all the time and don't remove them except to clean them occasionally. I currently use the Swift FX for her and I am having the same problem with the back strap sliding ...

Re: Insurance Payment for Masks
Idamtnboy thanks for that list of HCPCS codes it should be a link at the top of the forum for all to refer to. I copied it for my own personal use. From my experience with working with the provider office billing side of things, insurances don't differentiate between brands it's all based on the cod...

Re: Has anyone ever received a DME bill like this one?
What is the not allowed 56.92 charge being billed to you? Shouldn't the DME write that off if they accept Medicare assignment? Also does your Blue Cross sup plan follow Medicare guidelines? I would only pay $63.08. The bill does not show the line items being billed it just shows the payments and con...

Re: Aetna Insurance
I agree with everyone here. I check insurance benefits for a living. I constantly have educate patients about their own benefits. Please make sure you educate yourself to know YOUR own insurance benefits as it is YOUR responsibility to do so. Never let the DME or even your Dr's office tell you what'...

Re: New User with Mask questions
Got my new mask and it is the Swift for her model went home and right away took a nap with it and it is so much better than the other mask. Last night I was able to sleep on my side without much problems. I feel a little better rested, but it's still quite an adjustment having air up shot up your no...

Re: New User with Mask questions
Thank you all for the suggestions. Thought I could just call my DME and get a new mask sent to me via mail, but WRONG, I have to go into the office with the RS to get a new mask fitted. Very dissapointing since the office is quite a long busy drive from my home. I'm going into my DME office tomorrow...

New User with Mask questions
Just started using my CPAP on Friday night with the Respironics Comfort Gel nasal mask. One of my problems is that I have very fine long hair and the headgear tends to slip around easily. I am having to keep pulling down the headgear to stay under my ears to keep a good fit. I am also a side sleeper...
