Re: The S9 usage is a lie... :| (It rounds... up)

My health life just sucks, i should just die cuz thats all anyone wants me to do -_- Noone wants to help me get over problems i have, they just sya "GET OVER IT" instead of HELPING ME. You're angry. I get that. You resent having all these problems. I get that. You're frustrated and need to vent. Yo...

Re: Night wakings

Yep, everybody's different. In my case, I always awoke 5 or 6 times a night, and often could not get back to sleep. I thought that was just how sleep was for everybody! I was also a very light sleeper so everything woke me up. Once I started CPAP, that all did change, and I sleep through the night. ...

Re: Newbie

It does all seem a bit overwhelming at first, but you've stumbled into an amazing cadre of people. I'm a newbie too (4 months in) and reading, reading, reading here helped so much. You're already way ahead of me, asking these questions before you get your machine - I got lucky, found a great doctor,...

Re: Does inusrance compensate for sleepless nights

Here are a couple of options if you must spend that many nights in the tornado shelter (and I'm not going to second-guess you on whether you need to do that. We each do what we must do to keep our kids safe, and if for you, that means getting to the shelter, then that's what you need to do): 1. If i...

Re: What does "rested" feel like?

Good question! It's been so long that I barely remember. For me, truly "rested" isn't just waking up and feeling like I'll have enough energy to get through the day (although that in itself is a very welcome change and an important milestone on the way). Truly "rested" will be when I awaken with amb...

Re: How do I know if I don't need CPAP anymore?

I'm already off diabetes and high blood pressure medications, all of those things are now normal, which blows me away, so its natural to wonder about the apnea. My neck circumference is down 3 inches, the pressure is just too much for me anymore at the setting I used to run, it blows me away now, w...

Re: Nasal Pillow help please!

I have one more question - is there any kind of adhesive type of stuff that could help hold the pillows in place? Maybe even just gently taping it? I am afraid I am probably between size S & M - the smalls go too far up my nostrils and the mediums don't line up well at all. I agree with Chunkyfrog,...

Re: Noob Realizes He Needs To Pay More Attention

Glad it all turned out all right in the end! And glad that they didn't lose your luggage. I think just about everyone carries their machine on board with them for exactly that reason. My doctor advised me to get all the consumables (hose, mask, water chamber) that insurance will cover for the first ...

Re: Allergy to CPAP machine

Gaga, I wonder if maybe some people's noses and sinuses just don't like rapid change. If I don't use my ramp feature when I go to bed, my sinuses and nasal passages complain bitterly for about half an hour. Similarly, if I go from, say, a hot summer day into cold air conditioning I stuff up for a wh...

Re: Sleeping too much because sleep is so great! Advice?

Yep, sounds very familiar. I work a job with long hours and found myself going to bed earlier and earlier so that I could have the long sleeps I apparently needed (10-11 hours!). At about the three month mark, that need for long sleeps started to taper off and now I find myself waking naturally afte...

A Night in Hospital with CPAP

So I ended up spending the weekend in the hospital after going to the ER with chest pain on Saturday. That story is still unfolding and I won't bother anyone here with it, but I thought I'd share some cpap-related observations of my experience. The "Message" part is just my take on learning from the...

Re: Allergy to CPAP machine

One suggestion that I haven't seen in this thread yet - have those of you experiencing allergy problems considered whether your pillow or mattress might be the problem? Especially if what you're experiencing is symptoms when you take the mask off in the morning. I could easily see pillow allergens (...

My gosh. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. As an old geek who was around for ArpaNet and Usenet, I cannot begin to say how very meta this all is! The question of whether to ban OT threads from forums is as old as the net, and every single forum I've ever encountered deals with it regularly (...

Re: 12 years on cpap and it's time to move on.

I will try to clear my name here. (1) I never came here to "bash" CPAP in anyway.(2) I've had had many machines for many years.. Some worked better than others. (3) I am a salesman (I sell lumber) BUT I'm not a implant/CPAP salesman. (4) I'm a 40 yr old white male that lives in Charleston SC marrie...

Re: 12 years on cpap and it's time to move on.

Yeeess ... the name ... so?? This is still related to "talking about CPAP"! And we're talking about something that may be end up being better than CPAP. They have to start somewhere! And you don't know that these implants won't become the GOLD STANDARD in time. I think I know who's in denial here!!...
