Re: TMJ improvements on CPAP?!?

Thanks - I appreciate the input.

I definitely don't intend to stop using my guard - was just surprised at waking up and not having the usual pain and popping, and wondered what others' experience in this might be.

My my - such anger. You're entitled to your opinions, but you aren't entitled to put words in my mouth. Nowhere did I say anything about capitalism being bad, nor did I say that it is wrong to work hard for money to pull yourself out of poverty. Your father isn't the only person who struggled agains...

TMJ improvements on CPAP?!?

A question: I've worn a bite guard at night for many years due to jaw clenching. I'm such a championship clencher that before I had the guard, I had cracked several molars from the pressure. I can't speak clearly with the guard in place, so I apoligized for this when I went for my sleep study - and ...

Re: Doctor visit yesterday -- a couple of issues

Good luck with it all! I hope you get some answers. I'll confine my answer to reducing caffeine, since that's the only part of your questions that I have experience with. I used to be one of those who could sip coffee all day long with impunity, but after years and years I did get to the point where...

Re: OT: Why Do People Reject Science

Yes, we've only directly measured and kept data for 130 years. But a myriad of other methods of obtaining data shows trends over tens of thousands of years, which is how we know about previous warming and cooling events. The current rate of change since the industrial revolution is unprecedented, t...

Re: Day four, Arggghhh, cheer me up.......

I hope it gets better for you, and I think it will. I am a newbie at this (have been using CPAP for one month), but at first, I had the same sensation of my mind being too busy with thinking about breathing, and even getting a little panicky about it. Minds are stubborn things, but I figured I neede...

My one-month anniversary

In late September, I went for my first sleep study. I have struggled with daytime sleepiness for decades, but in recent years (probably due to a really damaged neck) it's gotten much worse, culminating in days when I had to leave work because the urge to go unconscious was too strong to fight anymor...

Re: OT: Why Do People Reject Science

When you really look at the numbers, human activities put out every three to five days the same amount of carbon dioxide that volcanoes produce globally each year.

Re: At my wits end....

Not that I'm any expert whatsoever, but I wonder what you'd see if you had a videocamera aimed at you overnight for a few nights? It might give you some information as to what your status really is when you take the gear off, and whether there is something that provokes you to do it. I find it very ...

Re: Bed Shopping Recommendations?

Ooh, a thread to which i can contribute something since I've used aaaaallll these beds. As background - I've never had "back trouble" but I do have four herniated discs in my neck, plus fibromyalgia, so I can't stay in one position all night - I really do have to change position in order to keep fro...
