Re: Sleep test results - apparently negative
Chasecaleb, Your situation sounds very similar to mine. I had gone to see an endocrinologist about symptoms I was having and he ordered a home sleep study, just like the one you did. It showed an AHI of 7 with the majority of that being hypopneas, with no serious drops in 02. I then was sent to a sl...

Re: Auto Cpap better for sensitive users?
I personally was prescribed an auto machine but found that the changes in pressure disrupted my sleep too much. I switched to straight cpap and do much better on that. I can't comment on ASV or Bipap though.

Re: 1st 30 days--need advice B4 Dr appt
TinkRBell, As Pugsy stated, definitely look at sleep hygiene first. If you're not sure what that entails, a quick search will provide more than enough info. I had to do multiple things to help my sleep. I have had sleep onset and maintenance insomnia for the last decade. Here's what I did: (1) I got...

Re: 1st 30 days--need advice B4 Dr appt
Do you suffer from insomnia? Does your sleep feel very light and fragmented through the night? I had a lot of CA's when I first started but figured out (thru the questions and comments of other users) that my chronic insomnia and sleep fragmentation were making it look like I had a huge amount of CA...

Re: CNS stimulant
MaryZ, You're right I didn't. By all means the OP should do whatever is needed to not be falling asleep at the wheel. As far being on stims, my experience on them says avoid using them LONG TERM. For me, they over time made my daytime fatigue worse, and had a negative affect on my sleep. My doctor s...

Re: CNS stimulant
Duckie, And you're sure your therapy is optimal? I only ask because your post reminded me of an experience a good friend of mine recently had. He'd been on cpap for ten years but in the last couple of years, has started feeling worse and worse. So he went to his doctor and was prescribed a stimulant...

Re: Pad-A-Cheek mask liner at 16 cm/H20
Just be VERY careful if you get one and have to cut the hole larger. I cut mine to where it needed to be, not thinking it would stretch. Now it's too large. I can think of better ways to burn 15 bucks, but oh well.

Re: Pad-A-Cheek mask liner at 16 cm/H20
I think the purpose for any kind of liner is both. It's obviously more comfortable having soft material against your face as apposed to silicone. As far as helping leaks, if you sweat and as your skin gets oily during the night, the initial good seal can be lost and the liner helps negate this.

Re: Morning leaks with Padacheek
I've had the same exact problem. I'm wondering if it's not the liner, but the fact that the headgear is kind of known for stretching. My FX is a month old too and it just doesn't fit as well as is it did when it was new, liner or not.

Interesting post. I'm actually curious to see more replies to your question. I'm 29 and have the testosterone levels of an elderly man. I was just diagnosed with OSA and have probably had it since childhood. Having low test can make a man feel miserable (I know) and the thought of my CPAP helping to...

Re: After three months still can't sleep comfortably
I'm a side sleeper as well. I've only been on cpap for three weeks, but am slowly figuring out how to sleep comfortably. First thing that really helped was getting a liner. I got mine from a popular supplier, but I'm sure a homemde one would work well too. It made my mask so much less sensitive to l...
