Re: Advice please: central/obstructive question

I believe that I have the same problem as you. I had CA’s and OA’s, which have responded very favorably to my only sleeping on my side. Once I started sleeping only on my side, most nights I have zero CA’s and OA’s. My AHI is always less that two and these are due to hypopnea’s, flow limitations and...

Re: Sleeping on My Back

I know exactly what pain you are feeling when you sleep on your side. I have always slept in the supine position until four months ago when I discovered that I had positional sleep apnea. I went the old tennis ball trick to make sure I slept on my side. Sleeping on my side almost completely stopped ...

Re: Going For Heart Cath Thursday, Take My Machine/Mask?

The drug most commonly used as an anesthetic is Propofol. The use of propofol often results in pain on injection. To keep this from happening, ask that they mix lidocaine with the Propofol.

Re: Medicare and Sleep Apnea

My last test showed AHI of 16. It also showed I have severe PMLD, there were so many episodes that it almost looked like a solid bar. The first medication they gave me resulted in me not having any episodes of PLMD, but that was only because the medication kept me awake all night. They then prescrib...

Medicare and Sleep Apnea

I have had sleep apnea for several years. My last sleep study, 18 months ago, showed my apnea s (both CA and OA) were when I was sleeping in the supine position. For the last four months, since sleeping only on my side, my AHI runs about 1.3. I am having only hypopnea episodes. I am scheduled for an...

Re: How many masks do you have?

I have three masks: 2 Ultra Mirage - medium 1 Swift FX I use the Mirage at night and the Swift when I take a nap. My naps are usually 45 minutes and I have no problems with mouth breathing. Unfortunately, I have to use the Mirage at night as I do breath through my mouth. I wish I could learn stop th...
