Re: Need assistance with RESPIRONICS heated hose

I stopped by a local CPAP device supplier for advice yesterday. They confirmed the gray adapter was for a different mask and needs to be removed. The fellow at the front counter made an attempt to remove the adapter by hand while I watched, but it wouldn't budge. My next step will be to put the gray...

Thanks. I had already discovered the hose material is much thinner than my standard CPAP hose.

Need assistance with RESPIRONICS heated hose

I recently purchased a slightly used PHILIPS SYSTEM ONE machine with humidifier. It came with a RESPIRONICS heated hose that I don't think had ever been used. Once I got the machine cleaned and tested out I realized I couldn't hook up my MIRAGE FX mask to the heated hose, so I used my standard hose ...

Hello,

I don't believe I have much problem with leakage, especially through my mouth. I naturally breathe in and out through my nose.

Though I don't mean to discount your comments. It's been a frustrating time - both before I was properly diagnosed with OSA, and since.

UPDATE:

Hello - it's me again. I've been on CPAP for three and a half years now. Over a year ago I got my sleep doc to prescribe an APAP so we could measure how well I was doing. They said my sleep looked fine and they backed my pressure off from 10 to 8 on my CPAP machine. I did not notice any difference i...

Feeling frustration nine months into treatment.

Hello, I have been a member of this forum since January and posted a few comments here and there. I'm struggling a bit with my treatment of my OSA and would like some advice. After decades of low energy and long term depressive symptoms, I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea last summer and w...

Peter, Sounds like a few insecure individuals are trying to throw THEIR weight around by attacking you personally in their emails and PM's. Personally, most everything I've read on the CPAPTALK forum has been very helpful to me. If I start reading a post and it seems too long or is not very interest...

Time to offically check in.

Hello all. I recently ran across your helpful forum while researching sleep apnea. So far I find the exchange of ideas very helpful. I've lived with undiagnosed/untreated OSA for 25 years or more. I have had all of the classic symptoms like low energy, fatigue, frequent daytime naps, tendency toward...

shallow breathers

I offer one more "ay" to the question of how many of us are shallow breathers. I've lived with undiagnosed/untreated OSA for 25 years or more. Is it any surprise that I would subconsciously halt my own breathing during the day, when my body experiences breathing difficulties at night? Or, a second t...

Hi. I'm brand new to the forum, but finding a lot of good info - Was I surprised to see your posting about excessive sweating! For years (more than 20) I have suffered from running warm all the time and experiencing excessive sweating when I tried to exercise. I used to wear shortsleeve shirts all w...
