Re: Resmed Quattro question
Thanks to you both. I’ll give that a try. Usually my Quattro are quiet. Not sure why this one is different.

Re: Resmed Quattro question
I'll give that a shot. It's a new mask and they've never been busy like this before.

Resmed Quattro question
Hi guys/gals. I use a resmed s9 with a Quattro fullFace silicone mouth gasket mask issued by VA. Is the mask supposed to have a silicone gasket on the inside, where the elbow attaches, too? I can remember ever noticing one way or the other. I ask because I got rid of my old mask after 6 months (va r...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
I have 1 bagged L and 1 bagged S Resmed Swift pillows.
Ive had them since OCT '11, but I only use MED. VA has not told me how often to change my medium pillows, so Im looking for another set or 2 of medium so I don't have to go into VA again.

Re: Sleep Study results-
Thanks Roby! Wow. Ill have to digest this-it certainly is easier to read than the report they gave me. VA is great with treating, not so great always with explaining what they are doing.

Re: Sleep Study results-
Im sleeping pretty well, when I get those 6 hours or so (after grad school study, kids to bed, DVR with the wife, etc) im actually sleeping, not wake/sleep/wake/sleep. Now i need to figure out if any of my VA medication for my lower spine/nerve injury is contributing to my difficulty with weight los...

Re: Sleep Study results-
Diagnosis is severe OSA, prescribed a ResMed S9. My main curiosity was that there is an AHI/RDI, but no apneas listed, just the hypopneas.

Sleep Study results-
Can anyone help me interpret some of this? I guess my biggest question in all of this is 'is this apnea' or something else? I know the doc say OSA, but I was reading somewhere about how if your RDI was way higher than your AHI that there was something else that it could be "UARS" or something. It lo...

Re: CPAP function S9
Cool. Thanks for sharing. VA sleep tech explained the 'how' of using it, not so much the 'how' of it working.

CPAP function S9
How does a CPAP detect an obstructive apnea? Is it by pressure events where is has to increase the pressure, or some other mechanism?

Re: Taking charge of my theropy
you can buy a USB card reader that you plug the card into, and then into your computer for about 6.00 at pretty much any Walmart on the planet.

Re: post part 2 seeing 'control data'
I got the prelim results from VA today, but not the actual study. It says i was titrated at 7cmwp, but achieved no REM at this pressure. Apnea severe at points. avoid etoh/sedatives/narcotics. Well, that sucks-im on narcs for nerve/lumber discogenic pain. It's chronic and not going away. What does t...

Re: post part 2 seeing 'control data'
Thanks. Ill give it some thought. It just seems so weird that I would have been 'every 30 seconds for about an hour' at my sleep study, but now after 4 days Im at 1 event for about 10 seconds.
I probably SHOULD be happy that it's doing it's job.

post part 2 seeing 'control data'
SO, since I have an autopap machine that self adjusts, is there anyway to get it to chart me as a 'control' without therapy, but still using the software onboard, or do I just have to compare to my sleep study and be confident in that its doing its job? Im a data geek at work, so knowing the machine...
