Re: Pressure settings?
Do you mean you are starting the ramp at 8 for 10 minutes so you are at 12 on cpap all night? If the DME set it up on APAP, what was the pressure range? You said it was set at 8? How did you decide on 12 for your cpap pressure? Did you get copies of your sleep study reports? Lisistired yes it start...

Re: Pressure settings?
nanwilson, I have the machine set in cpap mode. It has a feature that allows me to set a lower number for a certain amount of minutes before it ramps up to the higher setting. Suppose to be a comfort feature. In APAP mode it's suppose to sense what my needs are. I tried that mode and it allowed the ...

Pressure settings?
A question about changing pressure settings yourself. I have a Resmed S9 Escape Auto. (NOTE I know now that I got a brick and it offers very little information. I don't need any replies as to "You got a brick".) When I did my titration test it was set up for 8cmH2o. I've been using the machine since...

Re: CPAP VS APAP
I've had the machine for about 3 months now. I found a new dme I'm gonna try when the time is up to replace it. Ignorance is suppose to be bliss not sleepless. I just got so much to learn. " ignorance can be cured with knowledge and education. But you can't fix stupid!!!

Re: CPAP VS APAP
Like I said the Escape Auto is the only thing that was available to me. (Insurance, won't even go into that). Also I would like to thank all of you that took a simple post and turned it into your own personal war zone. I'm not really sure at this time if I will be back to this forum or not. It's bee...

Re: CPAP VS APAP
My machine is the Escape Auto. It's the only thing I could get when I went to the supplier. When I made the change from APAP to CPAP I also started using a Mirage Softgel nasal mask. I don't think I've got any leaks that I can tell. (machine won't display that info). My titration pressure was 8. Whe...

CPAP VS APAP
I've been using my machine for about 2 or 3 months now. I've always let it stay in the APAP mode. At first everything was ok. Last week I started feeling really bad, no energy and my chest had started hurting. Hurting in a way that made me feel like my lungs were bruised. I started keeping track of ...

Bed Pillows
I could sure use some advice on bed pillows. Here lately I've been turning on my side during the night while I'm asleep. Normally I'm a back sleeper but sometimes I like to lay on my side. The regular pillows I use just take the hose connection right off the masks I've been wearing. (Quattro FX and ...

itchy face!!!
How do you deal with the itchy face problem. I try and outlast it till I fall asleep but it is a problem. I'm using a full face mask, tried two different kinds plus a nasal mask. Every time I put them on I get the itchy face. I tried the nasal pillow but my numbers almost tripled and I felt like cra...

Re: newbie problems
The 4-20 range was what the provider set the machine up for. I figured out how too change the settings to get the max pressure lower. The sleep study said I needed 8. I'm so new to all of this that I just trusted what it was set up for. I was told by the provider that leaving the max setting at 20 w...

newbie problems
I've been trying to get use to my cpap for 4 weeks now. The first two weeks were wonderful. The only problem I had was with the 6' hose that came with the machine. I have a ResMed Escape Auto, set to apap, I am using a Mirage Quattro at first. Plus I got a nasal pillow to try that out. The pillow is...
