Re: Anyone putting meds in their heated humidifier?
[quote="dllfo"]I have been traveling and had a major problem. My Auto BiPap was set at 4/16, but I wasn't getting enough air in my lungs. About 2am I gave up and turned the Auto Bipap back to its original 4/25. With that setting I was able to sleep 7 hours. My big question is ...do any of you put me...

Re: Miserable with bloating - new to CPAP and ready to QUIT!
Bfmanning - hang in there! I'm in my third week of XPap therapy - though I'm on bi-level, my pressures are set fairly high, and I had the SAME issues you've mentioned during my first two weeks - IT DOES GET BETTER IF YOU GIVE IT A CHANCE! For the first two weeks, it felt like my left ear was going t...

New Gel FF Mask?
Got my machine/mask two weeks ago - DME mentioned that there's a new gel FF mask that's supposed to be coming out soon (has been delayed a number of times) - but I can't remember what brand he mentioned it was...whether it was a new ResMed Mirage, or simply a different brand that would be more comfo...

A timely question for me as well. My situation: dx'd with depression 2 years ago - did therapy and was put on Wellbutrin for about a year. Went off Wellbutrin by my own decision. Felt ok for a good while, but then got referred to look at gastric bypass surgery last winter, and had to do an MMPI stud...

Re: Hypopnea and claustrophobia
[quote="ljferrante"]I had a sleep study done that showed zero apnea events, but 113 hypopnea events (19.6 index) saying I had moderate obstructive sleep apnea. So, I had a second sleep study w/the cpap mask. When the tech put the mask on me, I had a complete panic attack about not being able to brea...

I've been on BiPap for 3 days now, and I'm beginning to see that I'm probably going through the same thing Johnb2 is describing. I think it's in large part due to the fact that I was undiagnosed for so long - looking back, it could have been as long as 15 years - and I only just turned 30!! I've bee...

BiPap users - ever get sore diaphragm muscle?
I'm *brand spankin' new* to using any kind of Pap - and my titrated pressures are considered to be on the high end, from what everyone's told me. My 2nd night with the machine, I get an ever-so-slight soreness where the left side of my diaphragm would be. It could have something to do with my sleepi...

As someone who also has asthma, I can tell you that if you spent a full night w/out humidification, it's likely to be the cause. For me, dry nasal passages leads to more "gunk" later on in the day in reaction to it, which means a day of wheezing. Get your doc to straighten things out with the DME an...

As to the AutoScan software - I imagine that's going to be a "no" or an "if I can afford to buy the adaptor in future out-of-pocket." It wasn't offered to me, though in the instruction manual, it shows the adaptor piece and there's a section describing how data gets synced. The data-compiling/sharin...

Well, yes - that was my "shock moment" - seeing the titrated pressure being so high on my study results. I didn't have a clue that my need was "that" serious - but it's a blessing of sorts to have it in black and white - no more mysteries. When I went to have the machine set up at the DME, we had a ...

ResMed VPap III w/H21 humidifier?
Anyone else use this?
Just got mine today - it was the machine my sleep tech specifically recommended, and I have to say I'm impressed so far with how easy it seems to use.
Any helpful hints or caveats for a newbie?
This is the first time I've used Pap at all, first diagnosis - pressure of 22/15.

I flunked my first test, same issue. The reviewing doc was the one who told me that they would be providing me with 10mg of Ambien - it wasn't my suggestion. I would question whether your regular family doc realizes what Ambien does - it doesn't interfere with any of the breathing mechanisms - it ju...

Dx'd today...??'s about BiPap #'s
Wow - I didn't realize there were so many nuanced things to consider - I'm glad I found this board... After 16 weeks and 2 seperate studies - docs concluded that I have moderately severe obstructive apnea - mostly hypnopeas...had some central issues with a pressure they tried at some point.... Here ...
