Re: tachycardia lady now going to lose job this month...

I agree with Janknitz on the caffeine problem. It seems to help to avoid doing much caffeine. I've found I can have a small cup of decaf once in a while but no more huge Starbucks drinks.

tachycardia lady now going to lose job this month...

I was posting before under "heavy sweats and tachycardia." Now I am facing losing my job this month. Trying to plan ahead and order any Rx's I am eligible to refill. Saw the sleep doc last Monday and he said I seem to be doing fine in terms of am I being treated adequatedly for the apnea as a possib...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Finally got in to see the sleep doc. He took my list of meds to the computer and came back with the advice that I should quit at least 3 of them due to a-fib side effects. I am trying that out now. Still walking 30 minutes on lunch hours (3 times last week). Walking seems to be doing me the most goo...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Just wanted to report in that I am taking magnesium. I started a walking program of 30 min on my lunch hour. I am amazed that my BP and pulse are looking better already. I can't walk very far - I chose a park where I can sit down periodically. You have to start somewhere and this is better than no e...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

I wandered off to a cardio board and was reading about various digestive and afib connections. I have been trying taking some of the probiotics lately. Tomorrow I get to see the doc again and maybe he will put me on the Warfarin. I am a computer person and analytical by nature and I surely wish I co...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Still having a-fibs. Talked to the nurse Friday and she said Warfarin would be the next med, and I should talk to the doc Monday if still having. (He was gone out of town). I just checked as I was sweating heavily while trying to cook at the stove, and the pulse was 122. (On the BP machine). I am 61...

Re: Newbie Taping Mouth Shut

My unconscious self has a huge desire to breathe through my mouth too. I use a heavy neoprene chinstrap. At times putting in a dental appliance (like one of those mold-to-fit-your mouth guards) has helped. You can spend $20 at the phramacy or $5 as an athletic retainer. Sometimes I'm just too tired ...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

My heavy head sweats and a-fibs are when I am walking around a store shopping. Sometimes I have not been walking very long. One time it was after 1-1/2 hours. Last Sunday it was after maybe 40 minutes. That was the only reason I was worried about walking much. I have to walk a football field to get ...

Re: Bi-PAP users, tell me your story.

About arousals: I am a 61-year old female and was told that some of the arousals can relate to changes in hormone levels. To combat this I was put on a very old antidepressant that my sleep doc frequently prescribes - doxepin. It seems to help me to stay asleep, anyway. Pat in OlyWA

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

To Slinky: the only other heart med I'm on is the digoxin. I have the same question another poster had - does the event monitor have things that attach to your skin like the holter monitor? You talked about getting the event monitor via FedEx. It can't be too hard to attach if they send it to you to...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Got into to see the cardio doc today. Readouts on my holter use and the echocardiogram: couple of a-fibs on the holter. Nothing in particular on the echo. Staying on the digoxin. Had lab blood draw today to check on the digoxin. Starting new med tomorrow: metroprolol succ er 50mg. Doc is removing am...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Okay. I have been on my digoxin for a bit now. One day I had two incidents of bad nausea and dry heaving in one day. Was worried I was having a cardiac something (women's different symptoms and all). The cardiac doc's nurse said no, it's just side effects. Great. She did say I may need to have the d...

Re: taking iron pills and having them make you nauseous. I can't take iron pills at all. I don't absorb the iron from pills. I have to have iv-iron administered. The up side is that in 2009 the FDA approved a newer form of iron administering. Giant syringe of iron can now be pumped directly into the...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...

Sorry got the machine wrong. It is a Respironics RemStar Plus M Series and the bottom of the machine shows 200M and that it is a BiPap. There is a "smart card" in it - does that record data? I had an echocardiogram that same day (this week) at the cardio doc's. He has done two echo's previously on m...
