What's the current status on supplies and FSA?
So I have a (quite healthy) Flexible Spending account (hooray for not getting sick as much this year as previous...), and I'm pondering a CPAP supply buy to stock up and be able to tell Lincare to kiss me in the nether regions. I know that the FSA rules were changed recently as part of health care r...

Hard to get the provider to change masks?
So according to the online system, I'm due to replace my mask and headgear this month. I know that, by default, they'll just ship me another of the one I have. But I don't really *like* the one I have...I don't like air filled cushions, I want a gel filled one. Can I just call the supply folks (Linc...

Re: Camping for a week without easy electricity
My search fu must be weak, I'm not finding discussion on how long batteries last between charges, particularly not any way to figure it out for my given machine (see sig), etc. As for a picture of the campsite...I don't have to, someone already did.... http://land.pennsicwar.org/land_php/map.php . I...

Camping for a week without easy electricity
So...this August I'm going to be camping for a week without easy access to electricity...
What are my options for making my CPAP go?
Assume access to battery chargers onsite, but at a location far enough away that I'd like to avoid having to go there every day if possible.

OT: What is the difference between Rugby Union and Rugby League? Politics and class. A little more than that, there are also some rule differences. In "League" rugby, a team only has a certain number of "downs" in which to score before they have to turn the ball over...so every 6th "play" (defined ...

Re: Bi-PAP users, tell me your story.
I'm guessing that Alan was either on a Bipap Pro... or it was set to a straight Bipap mode. You guess correctly. And yes, the transitions were well under a second, that was the problem, because they were so rapid and sharp, my brain noticed and fixated on them. There was also the issue that it woud...

Re: Bi-PAP users, tell me your story.
My doctor went right from initial consult to sleep study with split titration to BiPap inside of 2 weeks, passing right over the CPAP phase (also passing right over the 'let's watch for a night and see what happens' phase). Of course, my expressed symptomology was classically horrible (massive snori...

Re: Ever used the same pillows two nights in a row?
I find that I have to wash my pillow every night, but I use the same one in my mask so far.
If I don't wash it, I seem to have massive leak issue...not sure what the connection is.

Ok, so what *else* causes hose rain?
This is weird... I got my new machine about 11 days ago, and did my first weekly intensive cleaning this past Sunday, as per instructions (well...okay, not completely per instructions, as that was day 9 not 7, but my routine is weekly maintenance of stuff, not just the CPAP, is Sunday, so I figured ...

Changing Insurance Companies Mid-CPAP Rental
So...due to a possible job change, it is likely that I will be changing from my current Aetna based PPO style insurance to a HSA account based insurance (high deductible, etc). Does the new insurance pick up the rental for my cpap (lincare, if it matters) for the remainder of the rental term? Am I g...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, well...sorta...they're actually .000 files, but close enough. It's a Phillips System one. Model 250P A few lines from the properties file: ProductType=0x33 DataFormat=UDF DataFormatVersion=2 Strangely, her machine doesn't seem to be giving her any info on AHI o...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
So I'm trying to convert a friend who's CPAP is giving her fits into a dedicated datahead, but I'm having a problem with the card and getting the data imported correctly. The card has a P-series folder, but all that's inside it are a number of 1K files. That seems wrong to me. I do the import in SH,...

Singing the Praises of the S9 VPAP Auto/Quatto Mask
So....Thursday I was ready to throw my machine out the window....fortunately, the provider switched it out, instead. The new machine...just plain awesome. The mask is quiet and doesn't pinch. The flow is gradual and works. And the numbers...well...they don't lie... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Flying with a BiPap - Can I *use* it?
Seeing as how at this point those decisions haven't been made (one of my criteria is intended to be "can I do this?"), I was kinda hoping to get some experience reviews. Or an absolute "FAA REgulatiion 901.C.3 says no can do boss" (or "WHy yes, yes you can") as a blanket. Guess those don't exist...w...

Re: SleepyHead Qt v0.8 alpha
UNsure if this will be helpful or not, however... I managed to get SH to work for my machine, but I had to delete (well, move, actually) the data file that had been created in my users directory with the old machine. Once I got there, we were golden. Don't know what's up with that, but I'm working a...
