Compliment for supplier
I ordered from http://1800cpap.com/resmed-s9-slimline-cpap-tubing.aspx ResMed slimline tubing on Wednesday for a great price of $7.99 (unfortunately the sale is over) and it was delivered today. Such great service, that I wanted everyone here to know how good it was. Free shipping too! It is exactly...

Re: Should I tell doc/nurse I am using ResScan?
I have been looking at my data about once a week and see that I am having apnea, so if she doesn't make changes, then I will for sure bring up that I am looking at the data. I read a bunch of stuff on this site when I first got my cpap, so if I remember correctly, my machine can be set to automatica...

Should I tell doc/nurse I am using ResScan?
I have my first follow up appointment at the sleep center. Should I tell the nurse I see that I have been looking at my data or is it better left unsaid?

My hair is a mess!
I have fairly long hair, very fine, but highlighted so it does have a bit of roughness to it. My headgear is turning it into a rat's nest by morning. I am losing hair every morning and am certain I will be bald by the end of my first month on cpap! Any suggestions?

aching for a good night's sleep
I am so looking forward to a full 8+ hours of sleep. I have averaged less than 4 hours of sleep a night, not due to the CPAP machine, but due to a life circumstances (MIL ill and passing away). I have used my CPAP when I was asleep and have my numbers, which show that I am doing pretty well or at le...

Re: Resmed S9 Augotset or System One REMstar Auto with A-Flex
I ended up with the S9. The DME rep was clueless. Said this was a "cool" machine, that looked like a nice clock radio. She offered me very little more than if she was selling me a commode that they also rent. Thank you to this forum for providing much needed knowledge and feedback. Now I cannot wait...

Re: Insurance vs. online
Yes, my DME has the machine I want. cpap.com offers mask "insurance" that allows you to exchange masks. It runs anywhere from $9 upwards, a one time fee. They do not allow a return of a machine. My DME does. I just had a thought...think my sleep test, which was a month ago, might have a deductible, ...

Insurance vs. online
I have a $500 annual deductible, payable this year and again on Jan 1st if I order thru my DME for the machine/humidifier for $2000 (confirmed with insurance that I cannot pay outright for a machine, but have to rent to own over 10 months and my deductible is calender year). I can order what I want ...

Thanks Janknitz, that feedback is helpful. Seems as if the S9 is winning this comparison.

Re: Resmed S9 Augotset or System One REMstar Auto with A-Flex
Great advice, thank you! I so appreciate this forum. I am so much more informed now than I was just a few weeks ago when I was diagnosed.

Resmed S9 Augotset or System One REMstar Auto with A-Flex
I went to my DME and they carry only two machines. The S9 AutoSet™ CPAP Machine and the PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP Machine with A-Flex. My insurance pays for 80%, I pay 20% after paying a $500 annual deductible. The DME rents to own over 10 months, so only one annual deductible to meet. Now the...

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome. I am out of town for another week, but am anxious to get my machine. I have read nearly everything here in anticipation.

Newbie just diagnosed, w Provent, no machine yet
I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and promptly went on a trip, so did not go in and get a machine. I did buy 10 Provents and they have actually made me feel better. First about the Provents. They do make me feel better, but I have been sort of waking in the night and taking them off. When I can keep them ...
