Nose Strips & UARS

Anyone ever use those nose strips/breathe right etc? Do they help? Would they help with UARS?

Surgery for UARS

Has anyone done this or is it even possible to be done? I might have asked something like this before but can't remember (bad memory as I'm sure most of you have experienced with apnea etc).

If you can/did have it done, did it help?

CPAP Mask and Teeth

I have no gaps in my teeth, but have noticed that when I get up in the morning, my top two front teeth are separating where the mask lays above my upper lip. Does that mean the mask is too big? How do I fix this issue if not?

Re: UARS & Bad/Wrong Medications

I was actually able to get a cpap because my sleep clinic doctor (outside the va) had originally suspected I had narcolepsy when he found the UARS on top of my dream/quick sleep issue. So because of my MSLT results and whatever combo, he was able to get it approved. I personally wonder how they "fen...

UARS & Bad/Wrong Medications

I had one of the worst nights ever. I literally did not sleep. My neurologist at the VA gave me a prescrip (butalbital) for when I have a severe onset of a migraine. Like when I'm driving and it hits suddenly so awful it actually makes me jump like someone is stabbing me thru the top of my head into...

Re: RERA's

Yes, I knew it didn't give me any data other than average hours of sleep because I never see any data. They said it was similar to what I was given during the sleep study and was a good machine. I assumed the sleep clinic knew what they were doing when they gave it to me. At my follow up visits, the...

Re: RERA's

I use: PR System One REMstar Plus C-Flex, Heated Humidfier, SD Card http://www.cpap-supply.com/REMstar-Plus-C-Flex-p/ds250hs.htm And you're right....it is frustrating. Because they see me as you know still young, thin, don't look like there is anything wrong with me. Just some hypochondriac. Everyti...

Re: RERA's

Pugsy,

No, I guess I'm just researching options. The TAP and CPAP still leave me exhausted and I think it's effecting my health overall obviously. What other options are there? I guess that's what I'm trying to find. Or if there even are.

Thanks for replying....

Any input is appreciated.

Re: RERA's

I am a little confused by the chart. I will say that I do have Chiari 1 Malformation. I'm trying to avoid decompression surgery which from my understanding does alleviate most sleep disorder issues. But rather than having someone hack into my head, if I could have surgery to fix the sleep apnea issu...

Re: RERA's

Yeah, I just pulled out my report and it said without my cpap, I had 35 hypopneas index 7.6, 184 rera's index 39.9. With a cpap I had 1 hypopnea .2 index and 115 rera's 22.6 index. I got 6 hrs 11 mins on first study and 6 hrs 3 mins on 2nd study of sleep.

RERA's

Hi All, I've been on a CPAP for a while now. I think officially more than 6 months without a break. Tried the mouth appliance before that. I have severe RERA's. No OSA, No CSA only 7 hypopneas but had the "Severe RERA's" per the records. My 2nd sleep study with the CPAP machine my AHI was lower but ...

Re: Anyone take Nuvigil?

I take it. I was given a "coupon card" at the dr office when first prescribed, supposedly from the pharma company that manufactured the drug so that for the first 12 months, I only had to pay $30 per month. Did your doctor give you anything like this? Maybe ask the doctor about it? He told me right ...

Re: Need help with results etc....Thank you

Thanks for the comments everyone. For those of you who have mentioned thyroid...yes, I normally get checked every year because my immunoligist said I was borderline Hashimotos. But not enough for meds yet and I haven't been back to him in over a year so it is time to get checked. As for my anemia an...
