Re: A tip for travelers (flying)
I flew Southwest the other day and breezed right through security. No questions asked about any of my three carry-ons (CPAP, computer, and tote). Didn't have to open anything or remove anything. I wish somebody would design a roller bag that would hold a laptop and a CPAP. The bag that came with my ...

Re: Packing CPAP for travel
Cute video, Blackspinner. Your backpack plan sounds good, but too heavy for me. I'll just manage with using it as an extra carry on.
How do you get the knitting needles through security? I got busted for a crochet hook one time.

Packing CPAP for travel
Aside from the possibility of my luggage getting lost, is there any reason not to wrap CPAP machine in a towel and put it is checked luggage? I will be traveling with a rolling computer bag with TWO computers in it plus my regular carry-on. I recently injured my right arm and still feeling a fair am...

Sleeping in a chair
Does anyone else do this on a regular basis? I was visiting friends in Dallas this weekend and Friday night had my usual night of not sleeping due to the fact that CPAP doesn't work for me. After getting out of bed, I sat in a VERY comfortable chair and ottoman to read the paper while waiting for my...

Withings Pulse O2
Has anybody used one of these? I got it because I thought it would track my oxygen levels during the night which it does not. However, what it does do, is provide a sleep report that tells you how many hours you slept, how long it took you to get to sleep, how many times you woke up, and how many ho...

My sleep report
I just got the Rescan software downloaded and created my report. If someone can tell me how, I will attach it and then perhaps I could get some help understanding it and try to figure out what I need to do.
Thanks so much.

4.23 hours last night!!!!
That is the longest I have EVER been able to wear the mask - although the hours weren't consistent. For the first time I was able to get it back on after taking it off. But, it's also the worst night of sleep I've ever had since starting this and I feel like crap this morning. Something just isn't r...

Re: Can I get some help with a Medicare question?
Something just occurred to me - does Medicare require that you be compliant in order to get your supplies and see a sleep doctor even if they don't pay for your machine? If they do, then I am screwed. I don't mind paying for my supplies out of pocket, but I'm not going to pay another doctor to just ...

Re: Can I get some help with a Medicare question?
I don't need a new machine. I have three of them. The first one was a CPAP obtained in 2010 after my first study. The 2nd one was a BIPAP obtained a couple of years later when a new doctor thought that was what I needed. The third one - the S10 - I got just before I went on Medicare a couple of mont...

Can I get some help with a Medicare question?
I am new to Medicare and old to CPAP. I've been trying since 2010 and it just doesn't work for me. But, I want to take one more stab at it. My doctor wants to refer me to a sleep center in Texas (I live in Oklahoma). Does anyone know how this will work with Medicare? Will they pay for another sleep ...

Re: Chin straps
Yes, my snoring solution is the one I saw. I was just curious about it. It seemed like much too simple a solution so I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. It's been a while since I've downloaded my data - I can't say that I really know how to interpret it, but I'm pretty sure that leaks ...

Re: Chin straps
To assume you couldn't use one *because* you're a mouth-breather doesn't make much sense to me, unless you're physically unable to breathe nasally. This forum is a fantastic resource for all issues re: apnea. Are you getting any help in the real world (doctor, DME, RT) with your therapy? If not (or...

Re: One Request to Johnny, Carolyn, all forum members
sonnyboy, I can understand your frustration. I've recently been blasted for asking a question about chinstraps and denigrated for not being more knowledgeable and more active on the forum. If I want to be talked down to, I don't have to come here. I have a family who is happy to do that.

Re: Chin straps
I find it odd that you've been a registered forum member since 2011 and you don't know what a chinstrap is for. I have never used one and assumed I couldn't because I am a mouth breather, I didn't pay attention when people mentioned them. But, after seeing an ad touting their effectiveness WITHOUT a...
