What will insurance companies really accept as compliane?
My DME told me 4 hours a night - on average. I submit my data card on Sept 22 and as of right now, I only have an average of 3:38 hours with 16 days greater than 4, 26 less than 4, and 1 not used.

Re: SD Card question
Another question about the data card - my DME told me nothing about it when I got my machine other than I had to mail it to them in two months so they could report compliance to the insurance company. But they did not give me a replacement card for when I do that. Can I used any commercial SD card w...

Re: Rescan software help please
Here is the link to the tutorial. http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/ If you are downloading "all" and checking high rate data sessions and it still isn't coming up, there is an icon of a graph with a check mark on it in the upper right area of the detailed window. Click there and selec...

Re: What's with ASS-A (ASAA)?
I don't know about any other forums - I just discovered this one the other day and it has been a godsend to me. What is the story on your software? Does it work with any machine? If I already have teh software for my machine, would it be of any value to me?

Re: Noise out there in the air
Do you hear it OUTSIDE of your house. Or only in your house? If it is only in your house it could be something like a phone charger(transformer). If you have an older house could be your door bell system (If you have one). I had a humming that I would hear on very cold nights while in bed. It was d...

Re: How do I know I am getting air and humidity?
I think CPAP should not cause daytime breathing problems in and of itself. However, if you have an existing breathing problem, it wouldn't surprise me if CPAP exacerbated them. For instance, if you had a small air leak causing a partially collapsed lung, I wouldn't be surprised if CPAP made it wors...

Re: Billing and insurance
In most cases the humidifier is a direct purchase while the CPAP itself is a rental. The amount the DME bills is not necessarily the amount BCBS will pay them. Wait for the paperwork from BCBS...that will determine the amount you will pay. I did get the paperwork from my inurance company and it sai...

Billing and insurance
Has anybody tried to understand their billing and insuance? I have BCBS and here is what mine looks like: The DME billed BCBS the following: One month rental $189 Humidified $510 Hose $68 Mask $188 Headgear $58 Filter $42 The EOBS from BCBS show that they paid all of it (except the amount that is gr...

Re: Noise out there in the air
You also have a oxygen concentrator running too. Could you be hearing the noise from the concentrator? The concentrators are very noise and also give off a lot of heat! It's not when I'm in bed that I hear it. It's during the day or evening. Early morning right now and not hearing it. Yesterday, it...

Re: How do I know I am getting air and humidity?
They have run every possible heart/lung test to try and determine the cause of the breathing difficulties. I haven't seen the sleep doc since the study (he didn't even consult with me about the results - someone in the office called me and set up appointment with DME). I was told that I could see hi...

Re: Noise out there in the air
I've been having the tinnitus too, in my right ear only, in kind of an episodic pattern- it gets worse and then gets better, seemingly for no reason. It sounds like a constant hum in the background, kind of a medium tone. I've had the audiology tests and a nerve test (ABR), and although I lose some...

Re: How do I know I am getting air and humidity?
Thanks, guys for the explanations. It makes sense to me now. And when I say I'm not getting better, what I mean is that I am actually pretty sick right now as opposed to just being, I guess you would say, "uncomfortable" before. I had all the same symptoms everyone else has described - the main one ...

How do I know I am getting air and humidity?
I know the machine is blowing air because when I take the mask off, I hear a big WHOOSH!!! And when I turn over and the mask shifts, I feel air coming out the bottom. I feel the air coming out the vent at the top which is how the RT told me I knew it was working. But, I don't feel air going into my ...
