Re: 12 years of CPAP without follow-up
I kind of don't agree - I was diagnosed 11 years ago w/AHI of 47, given a "dumb" CPAP set at 11, and used it faithfully 100% of the time until 6 months ago. At that time, I decided I wanted a new smaller machine that would be easier to travel with. When I asked my doc for a prescription so I could p...

Re: Switching Masks regularly
I've been using the Swift LT for several weeks now, but yesterday afternoon I took a nap and used my Ultra Mirage II nasal mask. Didn't think about changing the setting on the machine. Napped a little over an hour, and when I looked at the readout on the S9, I got a red frowny face for that little b...

Re: How often do you replace nasal pillows on your mask?
Have you tried boiling the pillows? I have the Swift FX and they start to leak every 2-3 weeks. I found out about boiling them on this forum. Just boil a pot of water, dump in some baking soda, and drop the pillows in for around 30 minutes. Then rinse off with cold water. They seal like new after t...

Re: question about nasal pillow masks
I'm currently using the Swift LT (purchased from another member here), and am liking it. I don't know about the Liberty, but I can tell you that the LT strap placement does indeed help with holding the pillows in place. I have also used the Swift FX, and the Opus 360. I liked both of those masks as ...

Re: Resmed Swift FX Problem...any ideas??
I'm not new to cpap, but am a fairly new Swift FX user - what I'm finding works best for me, is to not use the same pillow for more than one night at a time. I find that when the pillow is "new", it holds fairly well, but for me, if I use the same pillow a second night, leaks increase and only get w...

Re: Pillow care....
FWIW, this is the worst leak graph I've ever had (Oh boy, a record) If this is uncommon. Can you post a common report? Uncommon we don't get all upset over. Or at least I don't. I figure sometimes the aliens come and mess with us so we don't have to count those nights. It could be you are worrying ...

Re: Pillow care....
Tape was still sealed this morning...here's a shot of the graph -- it's pretty ugly looking to me. First of all... check all your gear for any potential holes...like your long hose..or the short hose to nasal pillows. check, the swivel joint for proper fit. Yep, I've done that & all is well Somethi...

Re: Pillow care....
[/img] And last night the reports showed over the red line for a lot of time! Were the times over the red line short lived? Was the tape still sealed this morning when you woke up? Don't blame you for not wanting to go with FFM. I wouldn't either and don't even own one Can you post last night's leak...

Re: Pillow care....
The goofy thing to me is, even though the software shows leaking a lot, I don't feel like it's leaking, and I still feel like I got a good night's sleep. Is it possible the leak isn't from the nasal pillows but is from the mouth? Mouth breathing? Losing therapy out the mouth. Dry mouth? Use a chin ...

Re: Pillow care....
This thread is very interesting to me, because I've been struggling with getting leaks under control. I've been switching back & forth between the Swift FX and the Opus 360 - night before last using the Opus I woke up to the red frowny; so last night I went back to the Swift, red frowny again this m...

Re: Problems with nasal mask
If it's any help, I recently bought an Opus 360 from Amazon, price was about $56. This was a new mask, and I thought the price was great. You might check there.

Re: OT-Denver area 1st Snow-storm of season
I'm supposed to fly into Denver tomorrow (Thursday), so I'm watching your weather. Am I correct in thinking that since Denver knows how to deal with this kind of stuff it won't likely be a problem unless the prediction is way too low for snowfall?

Re: First night with machine
If I need to get up during the night, I just turn the machine off, disconnect the hose but leave the mask on. You're exactly right, getting the mask situated correctly is not something you want to do any more than you need to.

Re: Does anyone have experience with both Swift FX & Opus 360?
Just a follow up - used the Opus again last night, and put some K-Y on my nose first - felt like a really good seal, and slept through the night without waking until morning. My first thought on waking was, "wow, what a good night!" I just love it when I wake up like that. I really thought I had pra...

Re: Does anyone have experience with both Swift FX & Opus 360?
I switched from the FX to the Opus. I had all kinds of leak and comfort problems with the FX. For me, it was very unstable, and every time I rolled over it leaked. With the Opus, I have the hose attached on top of my head (I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it's become my favorite feature), which cuts ...
