Re: Distilled Water Shortage?
My AZ town of 40k population swells to over 100k while snowbird RVrs are here during winter. Distilled water, pork and beans are impossible to find in stores as well as other short supply items. My wife "banks" 10 or 12 gallons in fall to get me thru winter. Yeah, the pantry has lots of beans too! W...

Re: Insurance Companies are Stupid!
I agree with everything said so far , , , , BUT , , , , , just drive over to your insurance agent's home and park near his/her car. Mine (female) lives on the 7th fairway of an elite golf course and drives a shiny new red Porsche. Guess that kinda makes us the "stupid" ones huh?? As long as we keep ...

Re: Getting Wired Again!!
Pugsy is right, I had an AHI of 14 during the sleep study and 8cm was the RX for my CPAP. They said that normally, an AHI of only 14 would not be put on CPAP but since Afib was also in the picture, I was given a CPAP. The reason for a retest is my sleep doc saw some protocol errors in the original t...

Getting Wired Again!!
I have been on CPAP since late August 2011, , 5 months next week. I was titated at an AHI of 14 and my desat was only 88 but since they suspected the Sleep Apnea was triggering my Afib, I was put on CPAP at a pressure of 8. My compliance has been absolutely perfect and I have pretty much been able t...

Re: Where did the data go on my S9 machine?
10-4 on rebooting those ResMed machines. Mine will get all kinds of weird if I don't reboot once in a while. I got into the habit of unplugging it each weekend while I wash my mask. I have to take a second look each time I install the SD card too, sometimes it does not "lock" into position correctly...

Re: Another take on dependency, difficulty breathing
I don't think you are dependant of the CPAP to breath. It is commonly spoken around here that a pressure of 4 gives the feeling you can't breath. I know it really bothers me to be at that pressure. I don't even ramp anymore, I just start at my pressure of 8 and go. That is much easier for me to do. ...

Re: Going on a cruise in January
My wife and I have been on 18 cruises. Can't wait till the next!! As stated above, the ship makes its own water and that water is very clear. I would not worry about using it in a CPAP. Odds are, they will allow you to bring distilled onboard if you wish. Most cruise ships only have two outlets in a...

Re: Resmed DATA Ghosts
I have not had that happen yet but my S9 did have a spell where it showed the same data on the machine's screen for three days straight. The data on the card was OK but the machine kept saying the same thing each morning. I pulled the power lead out of the rear of the machine and plugged it back in....

Re: Do any of you sleep all the way through the night?
No, I do not sleep thru the night anymore. Before CPAP I slept all night with no wake-ups. I never dreamed any either that I could remember. Since starting CPAP 11 weeks ago, I wake-up every 90 minutes to 3 hours at a time. I have to "go" too. I also have began having nightmares now. The only dreams...

Re: S9 data card question
Good morning to you. This is a good question, I have no experience with. I would guess that if you wait until past noon, when the machine will write all the day's data to the card, you could then insert it into the new machine and go right on from there. Your DME should know the answer and be able t...

Re: itchy face!!!
I use the same Mirage Quattro mask. I have been on CPAP for about 37 days now if I count right. Anyway, I always woke up itchy several times a night until I lowered the humidity level on my machine. The itching stopped instantly!! Before CPAP, I woke every morning with totally dry mouth. I mean tong...

Re: Resmed S9 Humidifier issue
I use a lot of water in my humidifier. I fill it nightly to just a hair under the MAX line. After abour 6 hours run time (thats all I get) the water will be almost down to the lowest mark on the yellow tab gauge thingy in the tank. Our outside humidity runs from 3% - 20% this time of year so with my...

Re: Resmed S9 Humidifier issue
I have the S9 Elite with S5i humidifier and climate line hose too. I use a full face mask so that is our differance. I can say I have never seen any water, or even any fog, in my hose so if you have water at your nose piece, that would indicate trouble?? I run my unit at 79 degrees and set to auto h...
