Re: Nasal Pillows and sore nostrils.
I did break down and use the desitin last night (I was desperate) it is petroleum based (and smells funky). Today at lunch I scored a lip balm that's 100% organic, with shea butter and cocoa butter and calendula and some other funky healing bits. I am not even going to tell you that a chapstick type...

Re: Nasal Pillows and sore nostrils.
I have to learn to post more complete questions.... Yeah, I am naughty.. I have been playing with the headgear and the humidity settings on the machine and the ramp times... I overly tightened the headgear about three nights ago and caused the sore nose I now have and the two cute little pimples (on...

Nasal Pillows and sore nostrils.
My cpap nasal pillows made my nose sore.... I feel (and look) like those animated kids on that klennex tissue commercial with their red noses. I don't own and don't really want a full face mask, but I am guessing a back up or completely different type of mask might be necessary to switch it up a bit...

Re: Just received sleep study results with CPAP
Ya'll are the best. Thank you so much for the hand holding. I just got off the phone with the DME, they have an S9 AutoSet for me - no "Escape" or "Elite" in the title.... just AutoSet. I have an appointment in half an hour to pick it up, get a tutorial and mask fitting. I am kind of excited to get ...

I am so sorry to hear about your bike, I am of the Honda 'Wing riders, myself. It's a very lucky thing you're here to tell us your tale! My daughter and I were involved in a cage accident Thursday, that totaled my car. Many times over the last few days friends have said "you were so lucky you weren'...

Re: Just received sleep study results with CPAP
Thank you both for the replies... I had to go look up "AHI" I guess I will have to look up a lot of acronyms now. Oy, my brain hurts. Thanks so much for the clarification from "Elite" and "Escape" I will definitely write down and take this information with me tomorrow to the DME.. . I swear, all I ...

Just received sleep study results with CPAP
After "failing" my initial sleep study on August 3rd, I was called in to do another one with CPAP titration on August 20th. I just got the results today - of course I read the thing, but I have no idea what any of it means, and the graphs while cute and all, are just as confusing (if not more so) th...

I believe they have emergency rooms in Canada. If you use up enough resources by becoming a pest, maybe they will take care of you? I agree completely. I was on vacation in Victoria, B.C. in 2009 with my then partner, who had just recovered from major surgery; we ended up in the hospital - I honest...

Re: CPAP and Somniloquy...
I am a veteran also, but do not think any stress related issues I have stem from my military stint. I called my mom to chat about last week's sleep study and do some monthly catching up and just found out my mom and her folks suffered various parasomnias, including talking, walking and snoring (for ...

You must have a lot of stress. You might try bio feed back. Talk with you doctor about it. I have spoken with my doctor about it, there is not a lot known about the causes and cures of Somniloquy (Jerry, for you that would be sleep talking ). It was reported that sleep deprivation increases somnilo...

Re: Am I the only nut who uses bottled water in my humidifier?
Our distiller was found for $20 at an outlet store that sells returns. DH bought it to make Ukrainian 'sorokh'--didn't work! The temperatures were specific to water and alcohol went all over the place. Upside: The mess pretty much sterilized the machine and pitcher. For the 'punch', he had to go wi...

CPAP and Somniloquy...
I need answers... of course, the questions will come slow and steady as I am working through the CPAP lifestyle. Considering I haven't even gotten an official diagnosis and prescription for CPAP (wait for it... it's coming ) here's a beauty for ya.... I just woke myself up from a full blown somniloq...
