lost 40 lbs - should I adjust settings? charts included
I lost about 40lbs. My previous settings were minimum 11, maximum 20. I changed the minimum to 8, and this was my chart for that night: http://i.imgur.com/0Z6Bn9e.png My max was 9.11, 95% was 8.92, AHI was .44 I then changed the minimum to 6, here is the chart: http://i.imgur.com/oLcbc1K.png Max was...

Re: Help me understand results of my first night w/ new machine
I upped my minimum from 8 to 10. Below are last night's results. AHI actually went down to .5... do you guys think I need to up the minimum some more? to 10.5-11.0 maybe? Does it still look like the old 11.0 setting I was prescribed was correct? Also, I know you said I have no leak problems to worry...

Help me understand results of my first night w/ new machine
I had been using an old F&P HC234 for about a year, but wasn't getting any good results from my CPAP therapy, so I ponied up and bought a Resmed S9 Autoset. I was originally prescribed a setting of 11 last year. I set my range last night for 8-20. I always thought the setting they originally told me...

Re: CPAP machine pressure noticeably lower when I wake up?
the thing i don't get here is you say you have a manometer but haven't used it. wouldn't it be much easier to hook it up and test it rather than ask strangers what they think of pressure you are trying to describe? test your machine if you indeed do have the knowledge and proper equipment and then ...

I actually do tape up and wear a chin strap, as well.

Re: CPAP machine pressure noticeably lower when I wake up?
Just to clarify, when I mentioned that I noticed a difference in pressure, I don't mean in my breathing. What I meant was I could hear the air being blown out of the nose pillows, and when I restarted my machine it was WAY more - very easy to tell... not even close.

CPAP machine pressure noticeably lower when I wake up?
I haven't been able to confirm this yet (hopefully tomorrow morning I can)... but when I woke up this morning, unusual for me, I took my mask off before I turned off my machine. I noticed that, before I turned it off, it didn't seem like the normal amount of air was being blown out. So, after I turn...

Have you ever taken off your mask while sleeping?
Really strange. I've been on CPAP since September and this is a first. I woke up in the middle of the night and had my chin strap and mask in my hand. My CPAP was also turned off. Should I be concerned that I did all of this in my sleep? Apparently I unstrapped the chin strap (which requires 3 steps...

Re: Should I try increasing my pressure? Please advise
The SleepStyle 234 has only hours of use..compliance hours. No other useful data. http://www.fphcare.com/osa/cpap-solutions/cpap/sleepstyle-200.html The only thing you have to go on is how you feel. It is unlikely that things would have changed so quickly to cause you to need more pressure but it w...

Re: Should I try increasing my pressure? Please advise
I don't know if your machine has data. Someone else will help with that. If you decide to try that up it by the smallest amount the machine will allow and leave it there for a week. Keep a journal. There have been studies done that people are quite capable of finding their own pressure needs even w...

Re: Should I try increasing my pressure? Please advise
Some additional details that I thought of after I posted... I have no problem falling asleep or staying asleep. In fact not once have I ever woken up and had to get up and pee, which was a common problem before I started CPAP. Thanks again for any help.

Should I try increasing my pressure? Please advise
I've been on CPAP since late September. It seemed like when I first started using it, I could definitely feel the difference. It was easy to get out of bed, even when I only slept about 5-7 hours, which is what I normally get during the week. I've noticed over the last few weeks, it has once again b...

Re: New CPAP user (~1 week) and only one issue so far
Hi cake, Drool isn't a viable clue for mouth breathing. Your wife said she hasn't heard and leak noises, lip buzzing or anything...I seem to recall you said that. I just don't know why your teeth would hurt. Look at the edges for damage. And with bruxism, you probably would have jaw muscle soreness...

Re: New CPAP user (~1 week) and only one issue so far
After 2 more nights of sleep, and adjusting the mask, I still get the sore teeth. Although, I'm noticing that the soreness doesn't last as long. After the first few nights, my teeth would be sore for 2-3 hours after waking up...now its only about 1 hour. I'm not sure what to make of that - am I doin...
