My DME just suprised me with a new Respironics M Series BIPAP Auto with BiFlex and heated humidifier. Of course there is no clinical manual with it. Can someone be kind enough to provide to me info on how to program and monitor my performance metrics? I would appreciate it very much!

S8 humidifier and warming
It starts the warming process of the water in the humidifier, so when you start the S8, the humidifer water is warmed and ready to keep our sensitive nares and sinuses happy! If you do not start the S8 after about 10 minutes of pressing the warming option, it will turn the warmer off! Hope this help...

UPPP and Taste
I had a UPPP about 10 years ago, and had the same issues with taste. Everything tasted like c**p for about 3 months, then things improved. Hang in there and be sure to drink pleny of water, even if it's hard to do. I didn't, and ended up seriously dehydrated!

S8 Vantage Auto EPR
Hi Sundial, I have used and traveled with the S8 Vantage with an H3i humidifier for about 5 months now and I think that it not only works well, but is well-suited for travel. I travel by airplane and by car a lot, and have not had any problems with space in my suitcase or reliability. The only thing...

APAP Units
I have the Resmed S8 Autoset Vantage with the H3i humidifier, and can't say enough good things about it. It is small, easy to travel with, very quiet, and the humidifier reservoir is easy to fill and clean. The autoset mode has worked really well for me, and it does give you a good amount of info ea...

S8 Vantage Auto
I have had my S8 Vantage Autoset for several months now, and it is terrific! It is very quiet (I had a pretty quiet Devilbis 9001D before this and the S8 is even quieter) small, and easy to use, especially with the H3i humidifier. I don't think that you will be sorry if you get it. The autoset works...

What does it all mean?
I am sure that the information I ask searching for can be found somewhere in this forum, but I can't seem to find it, so I am asking for some help. I have been using my S8 Autoset Vantage for a week (and I love it by the way) and checking the numbers every day. Only problem is, what do they all mean...

Warmup on the S8
I just received my S8 Vantage EPR with H3i humidifier yesterday and found all the settings using a combination of buttons - holding either of the two center buttons along with the right button puts it into the clinical menu mode. All the useful settings can be scrolled thru there! I could not find a...

S8 Vantage adjustments
Hi All, I will finally be getting my ResMed S8 Autoset Vantage and H3i humidifier tomorrow after 3 months of fighting BS. My questions for anyone familiar with this new APAP: how do you adjust the pressure range, how do you adjust the straight CPAP pressure, and how do you adjust the EPR setting? Th...

Had a new sleep study - need some advice
I have been on CPAP for 5 years at 13 cm. The original study recommended 13 for CPAP or 15 IPAP and 11 EPAP for BIPAP. I had a new sleep study a month ago so that I could get an APAP. The MD reading the study recommended 16 cm and said nothing else about APAP or BiPAP. My PCP ordered an APAP for me,...

My DME said that since there is no CPT code for APAPs, it would be very difficult to get one. However, BiPAPs do have CPT codes, so they are easier to get approved by the insurance company. The fact that a BiPAP is twice as expenseive as an APAP is irrelevant. I am trying to get an APAP, but I might...

How to set pressure
Does anyone know how to set the pressure on a Devilbiss 9001D? My DME won't divilge this information and I don't want to send it back. Thanks!

Recommendations for cpaps
I notice that many, if not all of the recommendations for CPAPs are for the PB units, and occ. a Remstar. I have a Devilbiss 9001D that I think is terrific. It is small and really quiet. Are other brands not mentioned because cpap.com doesn't sell them, or are PBs really the best - because I really ...

Hello All, I am new to this forum but have been using CPAP for three years. I have been using an Ultra Mirage with a Devilbiss 9001 with a passover humidifier set at 13. I have been reading that the nasal pillows are better for side sleepers (like me) and I have had some leakage problems with my mas...
