Re: Mask variables

Another question: Why should my pressures be so much lower in the morning than starting in the evening? I can't really tell how much lower - that stuff flickers pretty fast on the screen, and my eyes take quite a while to focus in the morning. But I could swear they are at least 3 points lower in th...

Re: Mask variables

I was thrilled to find Janknitz's secrets to fitting these masks and read the article 3 times a number of months back, when I first got involved in such things. Beginning with everything very relaxed and gradually tightening just until the leaks stop. That's how they turn out to be very tight. And, ...

Mask variables

I've had pretty good luck with the QuattroFX+padacheek liner, although, to make it work without leaking it has to be extremely tight. I also have a Mirage Quattro I keep trying because it's so much roomier inside - also with the liner - also has to be very tight. What I can't understand is why the m...

Re: High pressure masks that work

Ameriken, Wish I knew your secret - my experience with QFX has been quite a struggle. I've read everything I can find about it and watched the videos, and it's still a struggle. I've learned that if you can get it to stop blowing into your eyes, it blows around the lower half. It just blows. I've le...

Re: Philips/Respironics BiPap Auto Bi-Flex - Breath-cutoff issue

My machine was cutting me off like that, (possibly not the exact same model - but it does have bi-flex) and the LRT, RRT person told me to move the flex from 1 to 3 which seems to have cured it.

Re: Newbie here...

Another update: The Mirage got me again! My back-up mask is the Mirage Quattro which I also got a Padacheek liner for, and in desperation went back to it WITH the liner and, lo and behold, 2 perfect 8hr nights!! WOW!! However, it chewed the top off my nose again. How DOES it do that? Even with a lin...

Re: Newbie here...

Well, I got the Rx and the main points appear under my hardware list. I only seem to have one specific issue; LEAKAGE. If it wasn't for masks blowing into my eyes, I wouldn't have a care in the world. And it only happens after the first 3-4 hrs which makes me think of skin oil returning. That, and m...

Re: Review: Pad-A-Cheek Quattro FX Mask Liner

Desperate to cure leaks, I ordered 2 padacheek liners - one for my Quattro FX and one for the Mirage Quattro. With the FX, the liner certainly feels good, but after 4 hrs I was in trouble again - with facial oil I guess - because with every puff at 20cm the thing would scoot up my nose and proceed t...

Re: Respironics BiPAP Auto SV Advantage question.

Same machine here, and yes, it will rev up and down quite a lot for no obvious reason. With no change in air output!
It does make you wonder what it's trying to do.

Re: Newbie here...

You say you're 'fighting' with you mask... did you get it at a homecare company (Durable Medical Equipment provider)? Did they fit you for the correct size? Talk to you about how to control leaks? Are you a mouth breather by habit or by necessity? Have you considered other mask options? You mention...

Newbie here...

This seems like a very friendly forum, and I've learned a lot of good stuff here (lurking), so, thought I'd post something. So far I am 2 months compliant with my treatment, but it's been all uphill. To backtrack a little: From a very early age, when I was just old enough to understand the words, my...
