Just thought I'd update this thread with my stats. My AHI was right around 100 and my O2 sat was around 73%.
People find it hard to believe that my AHI is so high since anything over 30 is considered severe anyway.
Needless to say, I absolutely have to use CPAP every night.

Re: So what about that new "Transcend II" cpap?
The Transcend was a wearable CPAP. You wore it with straps on top of your head. This machine appears to be the same, but is just not being advertised as a head-wear machine.

Re: I Dx'ed a guy while driving home tonight
Yuck! Kinda like my numbers. How are you doing now? I'm significantly better than I was. I'm not falling asleep at inappropriate times and I am much more clear-headed. I am still experiencing some tiredness now and again. I've only been on my therapy for about a month now, so it may take some time ...

Need a mask recommendation
I'm on my second month of treatment and I really need some help picking out a mask that I can live with. I have severe sleep apnea and a high pressure (17). I have a rather large head, so good headgear for a big head is a necessity. I am a side sleeper (even if I start out on my back, I always wind ...

Re: I Dx'ed a guy while driving home tonight
I had my share of this, trust me. I commute about an hour and a half each way to/from work. I'd have to stop several times on my way in and on my way home to keep from falling asleep. I'd get coffee, energy drinks, snacks, just to have something to "do" to keep me awake. I also gained 50 lbs doing t...

Note that the spaces before the .com are because I can't post the URL. The original wasn't like that.

All of these miracle cures that claim that acai or goji berry or pomegranate juice is going to help you lose weight or pretty much anything else are a bunch of crap.

Re: Prescription For Particular Brand?
Thanks for the advice. I want to start my therapy ASAP, and that extra $160 was a bit more than I wanted to pay at the moment. Perhaps I'll save some cash up over the next couple of weeks and invest in a better machine, but for now, with 100 events/hr, I'm just looking forward to getting started a f...

Re: OSA and venous insufficiency
I have chronic venous insufficiency and my primary care doc has suggested that I wear compression stockings to help. This after several visits to a cardiologist and follow-up tests with doppler ultrasounds of my legs that found no clots, just venous reflux with some varicosity. Admittedly, I haven't...
