I think it's a lot like having a new baby. At first you're obsessive about cleanliness. A few months later, assuming the baby is healthy, you let it crawl on the floor.

My husband is 6'2" and weighs about 180 lbs. His neck is 15 1/2" and he's definitely fit and active. He has severe apnea.
I'm, ummm, let's not talk about me.

Re: Heated tube AND a cover
My tubing is not the same brand, and I have not used mine with a cover, but when I pulled a light blanket over mine, it would turn itself off and then come back on in a few minutes. I assume it was overheating. When I leave it on top of the blankets, it's fine. I wouldn't use a hose cover on it.

Re: Does inusrance compensate for sleepless nights
Baprader, I know this wasn't your question, but have you ever considered constructing a shelter in your home? I live in tornado country and I get frightened when I see those swirling weather patterns on television, especially when they're on top of my part of the city. Texas Tech did some studies of...

I agree. What Otter wrote was beautiful. I thought I posted about it last night, but I don't see my post. Maybe I'm sleep deprived and only imagined I posted.

Re: What does "rested" feel like?
Rested for me means I wake up on my own and I can lie there and think for a few minutes without falling asleep again. I look forward to the day instead of a nap.

Re: New user with lots of questions!
Welcome! You get used to the pressure really quickly. When my DME showed me a 12, it scared me to death and I threw the mask down. Now I sometimes can't tell the machine is on. As for the nose soreness, I had that too and Ayr helped, but after a week or so I didn't need it anymore. Assuming the size...

Re: Possible CPAP Improvements
I wouldn't want to inhale anything due to asthma and fear that it would mess up the mask or machine. The suggestions above are excellent. Another possible idea is to read the threads on boiling or dishwashing old nasal pillows and mask seals. Why does it rejuvenate some of them? What happens to the ...

Re: Nasal Pillow help please!
I think they're easy to get right when you go to sleep, but during the night I sometimes have problems. To double check that I've got them right-side up, I feel for "Resmed", with the roughness on top. The bottom is smooth. Usually I just pull them away from my nose and let them reseat themselves, b...

Re: Doesn't this have to get better?
Oh yeah, I agree. When you wake up and your breathing is completely in tune with the machine, it feels so good. Sometimes in the early days, it was so smooth and quiet I thought it wasn't working. Then of course, there are the bad nights. Sigh.

Cruise lines consider the distilled water a "special need "and will have a gallon in your room when you arrive. I don't know about hotels. My husband carries small bottles with a night's worth of distilled water in his checked bag so he doesn't have to look for it. Of course, you wouldn't want to pu...

SleepLov, men are sweethearts. Most won't notice if you're wearing a cpap adornment on your head as long as you're breathing and friendly.

Nate, if you really want to look cute, wear a blue bedazzled Bella Loops.
Whispering now. I have no clue what Bella Loops is but I hope it's not something um... inappropriate.
