Re: One nostril blocked
I've been taking Zyrtec before bed, and it helps a lot.

Medicare + Supplemental Insurance
It's not so terrible to be of Medicare age... if you are, and have supplemental insurance as well, everything is covered... doctor visits, sleep study, machine, masks, etc. Getting older does have some benefits.

Re: How long on CPAP therapy b4 you started feeling better?
In the first week people were commenting on how ragged I had started looking (pale, ashen sunken cheeks and significant eye shadows that were not there pre-CPAP and more yawns and blank stares than smiles). Within 1 month, I had had to resign as chair of an important department committee and was be...

Just doesn't seem possible. Do you feel this good every day? Any secrets to share?BlackSpinner wrote:8 1/2 hours

Re: How long on CPAP therapy b4 you started feeling better?
Hey Robysue... I really related to your post this morning. After being compliant and doing pretty well (according to the sleep study clinic), I woke up with one of those morning headaches and was about ready to toss the machine and mask out the window. I feel frustrated and annoyed.. woke twice to p...

Re: Using CPAP forever!
It's not easy to come to grips with, that's for sure! However, when I think about other things I could have heard from my doctor, this just doesn't seem so terrible. Anyway, I don't see an alternative. Hopefully, one day there will be something that doesn't seem so annoying and invasive. Until then...

Re: First night with mask
I'm a new user also... nearly a month... I don't agree with your doctor though. I always use to get up 3-4 times a nite to go to the bathroom. Was told by my doctor that was because the severe apnea I have was waking me... and I would think I was waking up because I had to go. Not so... there is muc...

Re: best sleep ever after anesthesia
All this tells me is that those meds knocked you out. Glad you felt good when you woke up, but not getting the oxygen you need couldn't have been a good thing. Does sound nice tho... I think...?

Re: Something is wrong, something is amiss!
CoIdin... I do the same with my mask, and it works, which is the best part! I did buy a memory form pillow from a dept. store which I love. I tuck the pillow under my neck for support, and my head and mask "sleep" toward the side. I'm a side sleeper and it works great!

Re: How Long Did it Take?
It will be a month for me on Aug. 6. Last nite I slept thru the nite for the first time!! Did not get up once to go to the bathroom. The morning headaches have been cut in half. I still don't feel absolutely wonderful every day, but I honestly believe that will improve with time, just as everything ...

I would think so. At least, that's how I look at it.
