Re: ResMed S9 Green Smiley for Leaks

I don't need to do any manual calculations to get the 95th percentile leak number. ResScan calculates and reports it for me. It would just be nice to be able to check it instantly on the machine every morning. Knowing my leaks were under control 70% of the time is not very meaningful for me since I ...

Re: Just home from my overnight titration

I had the same issue of a six week wait after my titration study before I could meet with the sleep Dr. to get my prescription. I found that very frustrating. I did the sleep study because I was fed up with constant daytime sleepiness that was getting worse and interfering with my job. I didn't want...

Re: ResMed S9 Green Smiley for Leaks

Thanks. That is what I was looking for. What % of the time must you be in large leak to not get the green smiley. It sounds like you must stay under 24L/min for at least 70% to get the green smiley. That's not very useful for me. My own goal is to stay under 24L/min for the 95th percentile, so I'll ...

ResMed S9 Green Smiley for Leaks

Does anyone know what criteria the S9 uses for deciding to give a green smiley for leaks? I know above 24L/min is considered a large leak. Is there some percentage of the night that you must be under that threshold to get a green smiley?

Does anyone actually pay DME "retail" prices

I really don't understand the purpose of the ridiculously high "retail" prices charged by DME's for supplies. I can't see why anyone would ever actually pay them. I recently had to order filters for my ResMed S9. My insurance covers my supplies at 90% after my deductible is met. I knew I had not yet...

Re: Now I'm just sleep deprived and getting depressed

If you want to try a larger pillow size, it might be worth it to just buy the larger size yourself. You can order a new pillow for about $20. I don't think you need a prescription for mask parts if it is not a full mask, so your problems with the prescription would not be an issue.

Re: Now I'm just sleep deprived and getting depressed

What size pillows are you using with the Swift FX? When I got mine I originally tried the medium size. It seemed to work fine, so I stuck with it. I recently decided to see if the large would work as well so I could save money by not having to buy new pillows when my medium wears out. I found that t...

Re: Back among the sleepy

I've read several posts on here that advise newbies to view the DME like a used car salesman. This one sure seems to be acting like one.

Re: Back among the sleepy

I heard back from the DME. After I personally called the insurance company to verify they did not need any further approval as the DME was saying, the DME changed their story and told me the delay was because there was some problem with the doctor's prescription. This morning they said when that hap...

Back among the sleepy

I had an almost one month wait after my titration study before I could see the sleep doctor to get a prescription for CPAP. I was very tired of being sleepy all the time, so I acquired an M-Series Pro and mask from Craigslist. I discovered the machine was not collecting efficacy data like it should,...

How can I tell if I'm leaking too much?

Hello. If you've read my earlier posts you know that I bought a used M-Series Pro with the intention of being able to get AHI and Leak data. However, something seems ot be wrong with the machine, and it is not capturing that data. This machine essentially acts like a non-data "brick." I'll be gettin...

Wanted a data machine, got a brick

It's been three weeks since my titration study. I've still got a week to go before I will finally be able to see the sleep doctor to get a prescription for CPAP. I was tired of being sleepy every day and didn't want to keep waiting to get some relief. I bought an M-Series Pro from Craigslist last we...
