Yes Shay you can smoke in a different room...oxygen is highly flammable and the precaution is for when the tank is on, but I would suggest you continue to go outside only becuase if you have to do that, you're not as likely to smoke as often which is better for you...trust me, I know!!

Was thrilled with data...had to post!
I'm 4 months in to cpap therapy and I've had a LOT of help through this board, not only through reading the posts, but through Pugsy in particular! I was just so thrilled with my data this morning...my ahi was 1.3 and my vs was 2.2. I used my SleepWeaver last night and had a leak rate of 14 for 95% ...

My auto update also failed...so do I go to the original app and run as administrator from there?

JH...I use the Swift Fx and had one bump at the start, I couldn't get the lanisoh around here so had to use triple antibiotic ointment to heal it. Thanks to Pugsy, I soon had a tube of lanisoh to use and found the thickness of the ointment actually helps hold the pillows in place.

Just so you know....it ended really well!!!

Re: ABC News reports on sleep apnea
I feel like I have a really good family doc, but I think because I didn't fit the "mold" it was the last thing he even considered. Actually, he didn't consider it at all...I did!! I wasn't the stereotypical person either...petite build, active (once upon a time!), generally good health other than my...

Dazzle...I think you'll find the Swift much better. I tried the Lt to try and get more stability, but I just couldn't wear it...to look at them I can't see that much difference, but my nose just would not adjust to the feel of the Lt, whereas the Swift has never bothered me at all. Good luck to you ...

I recognized it too Starlette, even though I don't use it! lol! Was a little aggravated at the reporter though making the comment about how it "wasn't very romantic looking", but was at least glad to see maybe this is starting to get some recognition!

ABC News reports on sleep apnea
What a shock when I sat down to watch the evening news tonight and hear Diane Sawyer talking about "all these woman who can't sleep"...the report focused on one woman who kept a journal and went to six doctors before being diagnosed with....you got it...sleep apnea!! Before they actually said what t...

Re: Possible answer to itchy, sneezy, drippy?
I had just a little of the rainout affect last night...no noise (at least none that I could hear), just the feeling of some wetness in the pillow and only at the first of putting the mask on. Thought at first it was me with drippy nose again, but it wasn't! I can more than live with than in comparis...

Possible answer to itchy, sneezy, drippy?
I hope I'm not jumping the gun too soon, but after two days of being pretty much sneeze/snot free I am so hoping I found the answer. I've had 3 months of almost constant sneezing, blowing, congestion in the nose and it would start within 5-10 mins. of removing my mask, no problems while it was on, j...

Re: Hard time with Nasal Mask and a Stuffy Nose
Derek...check out Lsat's recommendation on the mask fitting, but I would also recommend the nasal pillows. I used a nasal mask for about 3 weeks at the start of my therapy, then got a Swift Fx and loved it. I'm not a mouth breather though, so it was very easy for me to switch, but there are things y...

Re: Does it matter if results are similar when choosing a mask
Elle...something that might help is just a touch of the lanisoh ointment before masking up. It kind of helps the pillows to stay in place better, which might show a difference in your numbers...just a thought!!

Re: Newbie to group and cpap(bummed out)and waiting
Hi Reffus and welcome to the forum...I'm a 4 month newb myself and still learning, but I also had to wait several weeks before getting my equipment. While I couldn't wait to get started, since I felt like I finally had an answer to why I felt so lousy, I also knew there was going to be a lot to lear...
