Re: Hitting a wall, not sure I can continue right now

Hi zeeclass, I also suffer from reflux (with hiatus hernia and perforations of the esophagus) CPAP has actually been very helpful with this as I was not equalizing pressure with enough air intake, I would wake up with severe back and chest pain, since I have gotten used to the cpap I have noticed a ...

Noobies. Do you wonder if CPAP therapy helps?

I am a relative noobie myself, so I thought I would share I quit smoking five days ago (thanks to E cigs, could never quit until I found them), and have just used ONKOR (thank you, thank you and thank you again cpapdork). I don't know if it's coincidence or not but my average AHI over the last five ...

Re: Doc says no APAP, could cause centrals?

Thanks to all for your very informative answers, I am noticing a huge difference my overall condition (went from 79.6 supine, and worse on my back down to a fairly consistent 5.2). I have soo much more energy, I just thought if I can improve on that, WOW. I think I'll track another couple of months ...

Doc says no APAP, could cause centrals?

I have a Respironics System One auto, I asked my Doc about using APAP, he said to just use it as a CPAP (Which is fine) but said that using Auto could induce central events, does this sound right? At 8 cm I am down to AHI 5.2, I thought that perhaps using Auto might bring me even lower. I am confuse...

Re: Sleep apena misdiagnoses?

Hey Den, that is a question I would like an answer to. Why is my pressure prescribed at 6 cm, I have severe sleep apnea and the RT said the same thing "That's awfully low". I'm up to 8 now but 8 seems to make me feel worse as well. 7 seemed to be the sweet spot, and I think when my own machine arriv...

Re: Sleep apena misdiagnoses?

Do you get heartburn or acid reflux at all? I did, but not frequently enough to have considered complaining about it. And yeah, same thing with the tingling and numbness in the extremities. You are right about the too many symptoms to remember all at once. I went for massage therapy, accupuncture, p...

Re: Sleep apena misdiagnoses?

X rays don't reveal it, I had to go in for a different type of x ray using barium, prior to that I had numerous x rays, back and chest, done showing nothing. The other thing to consider is stress. I know (now, just now) that I went the three stages of grief. Denial, anger and now acceptance, I took ...

Re: Sleep apena misdiagnoses?

For what it is worth, I had many of the same things you are describing, the back and chest pains most noticibly, tingling in the arms and legs and sometimes leg pains for the past decade or more, I have only been on the pap for a month and HUGE difference, but I also have hiatus hernia, have you bee...

Re: Encore Pro v 2.5

cpapdork (Mike Hoolehan) is the guy behind Onkor. Not sure on victormiller's part. (No offense meant here, I don't know what his part is) http://www.onkor.net Onkor is web application based, and very pretty. But it doesn't have ASV support yet.. There is also SleepyHead, my little cross platform de...

Mouth feels weird

My prescribed pressure was originally 6, at 6 I went from 79.6 AHI pre therapy to 5.2, pressure got bumped to 7, AHI remained the same, then bumped to 8, and still consistant, but after being at 8 I started waking up with a weird sensation in my mouth and nose, not really sure if can call it dry, bu...

Re: Any Canadians out there

Isn't it sick that for the past week I am losing sleep due to my anger over the practices in this industry, when I should finally be getting sleep? I finally realized today that this is a microcosm of our western society as a whole, and one person is not going to change what has taken over 100 years...

Re: nuther nubie

Boy are you right, I went to Ministry of Health BC website, it was determined that the industry should be self regulated, I am writing a letter to my MLA (My wife is on a first name basis due to her affiliations) Obviously Self regulation has led to lack of transparency, conflict of interest running...
