Re: How long does it take to feel fully awake?
Others may be able to offer more, but all I can say is stick with it. Even treatment that is not 100% effective is way better than no treatment at all. I've been actively trying to feel like I should again for about 5 years, with not much luck...

Questions about overnight pulse oxymetry results.
Hello All: So, before my questions, a few bits of information first. 1) I've been on CPAP for about 6 years. I use it every night. 2) When I sleep more than 5-6 hours, I feel a lot sicker in the short run (groggy and no energy), but over the next few days the extra sleep helps me a lot. Example, if ...

Re: Where can I download Encore Pro 2?
That was a good night's work. Good job!
Why Phillips doesn't make a fix then to easily install in a 64-bit computer is beyond me. It would not take much effort on their software engineer's part.
They could at least instruct people to do what you did.
Idiots!

Re: Where can I download Encore Pro 2?
Love you Pugsy! We think so similar. My point is, there are good Pentium 4 desktop towers out there to be had for $75-100. For me worth having one around. Wait, I have about 4 of them around, and one runs Windows 98se! LOL. I have done some limited work on problems like this one. That makes some sen...

Re: Where can I download Encore Pro 2?
My Dell laptop has two different programs folders, one for 32-bit programs and one for 64-bit programs. It runs both. I'm not sure this applies to all 32-bit programs, maybe some really don't run. Did you check on that, starting with Phillips? That's insane if their program only runs on 32 bit machi...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
LOL! I'm following about 80% of what you're saying, I really like this gem: a MSW waveform that jumps from 0 to 140V instead of ramping up slowly like a sine wave does. So are you an electrical engineer or a master electrician? One of the things I find interesting on this forum is how many of the af...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
Very interesting. I ran into noise problems with several of my telcom electronic devices where transformers were fine, but they did not like running off switching power supplies. Apparently in some cases, newer is not always better! So best to avoid running switching power supplies with an MSW inver...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
On a another note, the pros and cons of running a MSW inverter, while I have several and use them for different things. They work by switching the voltage 150V approximately on and off positive and negative. While this works ok for motors and transformers, the switching power supplies in cpaps, com...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
Gumby, I'm actually not sure, I think they are diesel generators at the hospital. More than once they've had to rent generators in a trailer when the generators at the hospital would not start. And, that is with them trying to maintain them on a regular basis! So okay Vader, now I really want to kno...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
The big problem with generators is if you don't test and maintain them, you tend to find that they don't actually start when you need them. Or they do like mine does. You go out to test it, it cranks up, and runs fine. However, if you actually need it, and try to use it, it dies after about 10 minu...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
I've been doing a LOT of research, and the generators powered by natural gas sound like the way to go.
Aren't they like $8000 though?

Re: Which CPAP do you recommend for me based on my info?
Sara, I just re-read your posts and I see you already ordered a machine, but I left this for you in case it was of any help. I brought myself a PR System One auto-pap from cpapauction.com brand new for $275. Could you try seeing if you can travel without the humidifier, just the CPAP? I think part o...

Re: Emergency power for CPAP machines!
Unfortunately, ResMed says all of their CPAP machines require an expensive ResMed DC-DC converter to run on DC. S9 machines will run the humidifier and heated hose off the DC adapter. Other ResMed's won't run the humidifier off of DC. For me, just another reason not to buy ResMed machines. That IS ...

Waking up from a "deep" sleep.
Can anyone else relate to this? Has anyone else felt like before CPAP they had not slept right in so many years you pretty much forgot what a "deep" sleep felt like? I've been using CPAP since 2005, but it's only been recently with the new data capable machine and a lot more reading that I have real...
