Understanding Leakage Statistics
Just took a first look at my S9 autoset statistics from the SD card. I'm using a nasal mask. I'm trying to understand the leakage numbers which seem quite high. Can someone point me to a guide for interpreting the numbers?

Re: My First Two Nights with CPAP
Finally got resolution today with DME who wanted to bill separate for the mask headgear in a Resmed FX nasal pillow. I gave them three choices. 1. Do the right thing and simply bill for the mask that comes with the headgear. 2. Bill whatever they please knowing that I would pay only for the mask. 3....

Re: My First Two Nights with CPAP
You identified the problem. I have a high deductible HSA account which means I pay (insurance contracted rates) for the mask and the headgear. The way it is set up I would pay for the mask (which comes with headgear) and for the headgear again. I don't care what insurance allows, it's my money. I've...

My First Two Nights with CPAP
First, Thanks to all for your help navigating the DME environment. What a bunch of slimeballs. First they tried to sell me a discontinued S8. Forced me to get a new prescription before they would sell me the S9autoset, which I finally got along with the Swift FX nasal mask. Interestingly I took a lo...

Purchasing online vs. bricks and mortar dme
I am expecting a visit from a recommended DME within a few days with my S9 Autoset. As near as I can tell, the contracted insurance price is north of $1050. The same machine can be purchased from CPAP supply, an onlin supplier for about $200 less. Since i have a high deductible HSA policy, I pay the...

Re: Newbie needs help sorting out the purchase process
Man has this forum been helpful. First on the machine. It took some fighting but they will be bringing an S9 autoset, although since my scrip says simply CPAP they are insisting that I get a new scrip, and I am simply saying that if this is too hard for them that perhaps I should work with another v...

Re: Newbie needs help sorting out the purchase process
Super helpful blog post. Thanks. In this case the resp. therapist is coming to my home, but I've already sent an email telling the dispatcher to be sure she brought the S9. I feel much better prepared to deal with this (or, if necessary, another) DME.

Re: Newbie needs help sorting out the purchase process
I had a split study which included about three hours of monitored but unaided sleep, and then the balance hooked up to a CPAP. This appears clearly to be a purchase as the DME company has already quoted the prices.

Newbie needs help sorting out the purchase process
A sleep study indicated that I would benefit from CPAP and my doc referred me to a trusted DME provider. However I feel somewhat like I am being railroaded. They called today to say that a respiratory therapist would come by with a particular machine (S8 autoset), a couple of masks to try, humidifie...
