Comfortable full face masks?
I use the Swift™ FX For Her Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask with Headgear. I've been a CPAP user since June of 2011. I have never really adjusted. If I fall asleep with it on, I take it off in my sleep within 1 hour. But anyway, I keep trying to use it despite this. My problem now is that it's spring, and I ...

Not adjusting
I have been a CPAP user since June 22nd. I'm simply not adjusting. Every night it's so disheartening to have to put crap on my face and try to sleep with it on. Thankfully I take a sleeping pill, or I'd never get any sleep with the thing. However, once the pill wears off in the morning, I wake up an...

Re: Not upsetting my doctor
Some people freak out at the thought of an xPAP user changing their own pressure. But there are some really incurious sleep docs out there, and if we listened to them without questioning anything, many of us would never enjoy effective therapy. If I were in your shoes, I'd tell the doc that either ...

Not upsetting my doctor
I am not sure how to not upset my doctor, as he did tell me to stay on a pressure of 4 when I last spoke with him. I have since changed to a pressure of 5, and last night when I was congested (despite having used Flonase), I changed my pressure to 6... I spoke with a healthcare professional today wh...

Re: How to set leak alarm on S9 Elite?
I have auto set and to my knowledge there is not an alarm that you can set. I would put some tape on the sides of the mask so you know if you are pulling it off in your sleep. Hmm, I thought I read somewhere online that there was a leak alarm. I'm not sure if tape would work that well for me, but I...

How to set leak alarm on S9 Elite?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.
How can I set the leak alarm for my S9 Elite? I don't know how to set it, and I would really like to since I have a bad habit of accidentally taking my mask off in my sleep. I need something that will wake me up when I do that.

Re: Got my S9 Elite!
If you were titrated at 6 & 7, it is bizarre not to start you at 6. That's the whole point of the titration. Did you have a lot of central apneas during your sleep study? If so, that could be a reason to keep the pressure unusually low, but otherwise it makes no sense. I don't know if I did or not....

Re: Got my S9 Elite!
Yep i was a bit nervous too. Actually i called my doctors office and the RT consulted with the doctor and gave me authorization over the phone to change my own pressure. Breathing at 4 can be hard, especially if you are not relaxed and breathing nice and slow before you mask up. What pressure were ...

Re: Got my S9 Elite!
I wish she would have given you an autoset machine instead of just a CPAP then you could have tried auto mode with a range of pressure as well as just a fixed pressure CPAP. If you read the clinical manual you will be able to unlock the menu and change your own pressure. No doc visit, no co-pay, ju...

Got my S9 Elite!
Yes, I finally got it! Replaced that stupid Escape they stuck me with to begin with. All thanks to Pugsy for pointing out to me that I got stuck with a brick! The woman who brought over my Elite (my DME) did not seem very pleased to be switching it out for me, or she seemed hurried, or both. Whateve...

Cleaning the tubing
I know you're supposed to clean the tubing weekly, but I've been nervous about that (I have been on CPAP just over a week). I read that it has to fully dry out before use again. I am nervous about disassembling things. I don't know if I'd get them back together right. Also, am I right that you can't...

Re: Discouraged
So how did you do last night at 5? Seemed fine, maybe better. I did end up sleeping a lot still, though. I also took off my mask at 11 or 11:30 am and slept until 12:30 pm. That is something I'm going to have to not let myself do anymore in the future. I just felt sick of it and still felt tired so...
