Re: I just walked five miles.

Congrats on the 5 miles! I'm not much of a walker but, could dance my way to 5miles easily...well, once I get used to CPAP. At the moment, I'm still in the "want to sleep all day" phase. Your story gives me more hope that this zombie feeling is just a phase and I'll be back to my old self soon enoug...

Headaches

I've been using my CPAP for week or so and I know feeling more tired then usual is to be expected till I adjust to the machine but, the last 2 days I've woken up with sinus headaches that are almost migraines. I also feel like I'm coming down with a cold but, no congestion just a scratchy throat and...

Re: Do I need a sleep study?

I'd still say go for the sleep study. I went through several doctors telling me that being tired was "normal" and that all I needed to do was change my diet and exercise more. Losing weight is a hard battle with the apnea- it caused me to gain weight and, if I'd listened to the first few doctors, I'...

Re: Excessive Sweating, during day when awake

You might want to consider seeing a cardiologist. About 8months ago I noticed I was also sweating in unusual amounts, sometimes without doing much activity. It was disconcerting because I'm a healthy 25yr old who rarely gets sick and exercises regularly. They diagnosed me with a mitral valve issue w...

I try to check the numbers every morning and it stays around 1 to 0.8. The highest I've seen was 2. It also says the mask fit is "good" and I don't feel like its leaking.

Re: Im a Newbie

I've been pretty good about wearing the mask all night. Yesterday I had to take it off midway through the night- I woke up and felt like I was only getting 1/4 the air I needed. I'm on a beta blocker for the heart condition and I know that'll make me slightly sleepier but, I wake up feeling weak and...

Re: Hi Everyone!! im new!!

Don't worry, I'm a newbie too so we're in the boat together. I've been using my macine for a week now and I'm really trying to use it every night despite being more of a zombie then usual. I was tired before but, this is a whole new level of sloth- I crave sleep. I'm trusting that it will get better...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Thank you for this, my doctors are wonderful but, they can only cover so much while in the office. This helps and the links break things down

Im a Newbie

Hello all- Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully find a supportive community and resources to help me deal. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea as well as Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome. A Fib runs in my family but I'm hoping that catching sleep apnea early will help me avoid it. I've ...
