Re: Sleep Apnea and Asthma

How does the CPAP machine work with people who also suffer from Asthma. My Asthma is well controlled ( unless i get a bad chest cold) I take Ad...

Re: POLL: How long do you think you had SA before you 'knew'?
I think I have had some varying degrees of severity of OSA most of my life. I have always been a snorer. I had a hard time in college with roommates, falling asleep in class, having a hard time waking up which was all explained away by my allergy and sinus issues. It wasn't until I moved from NC to ...

Re: Now I understand...
I took several of the suggestions here and the last two nights have gone much better. I almost feel energetic this morning, like the mountainous list of things I have to get done today isn't a problem I did get sleepy during the day yesterday but I forced myself to stay awake and so far its paying o...

Re: Now I understand...
You might also try keeping it on for a while when you are awake, just to help get used to it... I put it on about 20 or 30 minutes before I actually go to sleep and read or do something else to give me time to acclimate. Then when I got noddy, I'd turn off the light and go to sleep. Thank you for a...

Now I understand...
Hi everyone, I finally picked up my Resmed S9 Auto yesterday and slept with it last night, well sort of. I was exhausted as always but could not fall asleep with it on. I tried to take my mask off just long enough for me to get sleepy but I must have dozed off and never re-masked. But I think last n...

Re: DME Tricks
Early2rise, that must have felt so good to be in control of the situation and not let them take advantange of you or even waste your time arguing with them. You should be very proud of yourself!! Yes, it does feel wonderful as I am working with a much better company now and my machine is on order E...

Re: DME Tricks
Can someone fill us noobs in on what this is about? ... Even if it were allowed, it's completely unjustified, as they'll bill insurance about twice the free-market retail rate for the most expensive machine. They may bill the insurance company but that doesn't mean they will get it. For example, my...

DME Tricks
This morning, as planned I picked up my updated prescription for the ResMed S9 Auto and started calling DME's. Finally decided on a small local company that had favorable return/exchange policies. I had my appointment all set up for next Tuesday the 5th when I decided to drop off my prescription in ...

Re: Summer Cold & Sinus Infection
Hi Pugsy,
From the NeilMed video here's the link, http://www.neilmed.com/usa/adword_sr.ph ... 7AodB31yMA it only cleanses nasal passages including the frontal and sphenoid sinuses. No access to maxillary sinuses.
Hope this helps

Re: Overdue Introduction
So I called my PCP yesterday and was told I could pick up my prescription today. Send my husband to grab as I was at work only to find its a basic generic script. That is not what I discussed with the dr right before my titration. I requested a machine and he said he would take care of it. So I call...

Re: Summer Cold & Sinus Infection
I have been suffering through my first summer sinus infection etc and I have been doing all that the others have stated already. I use the NeilMed bottle rather than the Netipot. The bottle works well for me and is basically the same concept. Another thing that I found that helps is NeilMed has a Na...

Re: Overdue Introduction
I just called my PCP office to see if the results are in. I have to wait for a call back though Yes I am so anxious to get started because I slept so well. Even now on predisone for bronchitis and asthma exacerbation from the upper respiratory infection I am still tired and dragging through my days....

Re: Overdue Introduction
Been meaning to post all week since my titration. It went very well considering I am recovering from a bout of upper respiratory infections, congestion, cough etc. I am now waiting for my PCP to get the "unofficial results" from the sleep lab so that I can get my machine. Pressure ended up at 8cm H2...

Overdue Introduction
Well I guess as my subject line suggests that I have been lurking for a few weeks and want to introduce myself. I was recently re-diagnosed with moderate OSA. I say re-diagnosed as my first diagnosis came in 2001 after years of fatigue and snoring. I, like many others feel like I have had OSA most o...
