Re: CPAP with generator

My truck has a built in un-pure sine wave inverter that failed to power a heating pad, but the pad runs on AC. The CPAPs all convert the AC to DC at the brick. I would not think a less than pure sine wave AC would bother the bricks. Note that the portable power station linked below also provides 12 ...

Re: CPAP with generator

If you will be staying in campgrounds, you'll find most of them have quiet hours when generator use is forbidden. Many have AC power available, but not all.

Re: Using battery with my cpap on plane trip

I also avoid using my device on board. But why use a battery when so many planes now have AC receptacles? I believe there is a battery size limitation.

Re: Muffler for Resmed Mini

I believe the mini has a special connection system to go with the Humidx masks. There are adapters available to connect a standard hose, but if you want to use humidx mask you would need to adapt back.

Here's a video of a (somewhat) reputable YouTuber doing a controlled experiment with hypoxia.

I think I'll name my next dog Bolye. Then I can truthfully say "Boyle did it."

Re: MAD oral appliance effective alternative to CPAP?

I used a mouthpiece prior to CPAP. It works by keeping the lower jaw thrust forward and slightly open. This unnatural position caused TMJ while not preventing apnea. Now much better on CPAP.

Re: Looking for documentation proving that CPAP is allowed as "extra" carry on on airplanes

Air transportation means interstate or foreign air transportation or the transportation of mail by aircraft, as defined in 49 U.S.C. 40102. Generally this refers to transportation by aircraft within, to or from the United States.

Try this link to the actual CFR. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-14/chapter-II/subchapter-D/part-382 In implementing your carry-on baggage policies, you must not count assistive devices (including the kinds of items listed in paragraph (a) of this section) toward a limit on carry-on baggage. Also...

Re: Looking for documentation proving that CPAP is allowed as "extra" carry on on airplanes

Guess I missed where the links above speak of how medical devices don't count against the carry-on limit. Complicated? I fail to see how a carry-on, a personal item, plus a CPAP is less complicated. Sounds like a lot to carry and possibly loose to me. I read the other day a story of someone who grab...

ozij,

My water heater puts out water that's 127 F. I don't believe the dishwasher heats it further, but I'm not sure.

Re: I put a standard humidifier tank in the dishwasher

Not sure where I suggested I caught a virus from my CPAP, and I never used the word pnuemonia. I caught it almost two months ago from one or both of my germy grandchildren who live where the viruses are different enough that I have less resistance. Dr. assures me I was virus free a week and a half a...

I put a standard humidifier tank in the dishwasher

Okay, I'm a rebel. A persistent bout of bronchitis has had me reevaluating my cleaning schedule (almost never). I cleaned pillows, mask tube, hose, and changed the filter before looking at the tank. It was rather limey, so I tried a vinegar soak. After a few hours, the vinegar had simply made the li...
