Re: The suction: Do I need a mouth piece?
Yes, I use my machine for naps as well. Sometimes if I feel tired and just lay down, I will put on my mask and turn on the machine even if I don't actually sleep and end up with just closing my eyes. I do it just in case. So the machine and mask are on. There are no leaks (According to the data). A ...

The suction: Do I need a mouth piece?
I'm going to try and make this short. When I go to bed, I take meds. These are tranquilizers and diazipam meds that I got hooked on. When I sleep, I feel I sleep well. The machine says I am too. I see my doctor once a month and he's always happy. I noticed that if I sleep in the afternoon, taking a ...

Re: OT: Diabetics, help please.
Last June my H1ac went from around 5.4 to 6.3 to 7.4 or something like that. I wasn't looking at my fasting blood sugar and neither was my doctor for whatever reason. The above numbers show that you're closer to being Diabetec than not. For A1c test you don't need to fast. "For people without diabe...

Re: OT: Diabetics, help please.
I suggest you pay a visit to another great forum on the ADA forums at diabetes.org where you will learn as much as you would ever want to know about diabetes. In short - having a great A1C doesn't mean you have great BG numbers all the time - it's a snapshot condensed into 24/7 over 90 days. This m...

OT: Diabetics, help please.
Last June my H1ac went from around 5.4 to 6.3 to 7.4 or something like that. I wasn't looking at my fasting blood sugar and neither was my doctor for whatever reason. 6 months later (Last night) I thought I was having a heart attack. I was stupid not to go to the ER. I really felt like I was going t...

Re: Breathing but getting headaches?
So, just so I know: Events I keep an eye on in order to see what is happening, if anything, at night while I sleep. Am I right in that I am seeing 4 total events, to hypopnea events (At I don't know how many seconds) and 2 obstructive at 10 seconds each? These were then resolved by the pressure goin...

Re: Breathing but getting headaches?
I actually decided to put my data on the PC tonight. I don't have EPR turned on (Never new I had that feature or what it was). I'm not sure what data to show, but here's a shot of my 'nap' http://www.freeimagehosting.net/t/agp4a.jpg http://www.freeimagehosting.net/t/ft3nh.jpg http://www.freeimagehos...

Breathing but getting headaches?
When I go to bed at night, I take medicine. I fall asleep and wake up the next day. In the beginning I was very very surprised as to how I never needed to take naps. However, in recent months, I've needed them. Partly because of family problems (Wife fighting with mother-in-law, waking me up in the ...

Going to Thailand: Help
I've got to bring my machine with me. Has anyone else been to Thailand? What kind of plugs or converters do I need, if any? I'm looking online but I'm exactly sure what to look for.

Re: Questions my doc can't answer.
As for caffeine, I don't drink it. My fluids are 90 percent water and 10 percent milk. There are occasions when I get a sweet tooth that I'll buy myself a caffeine free coke but that's about it. I mentioned caffeine because almost everyone is familiar with it and its effects. All pop is bad for you...

Re: Questions my doc can't answer.
My naps take place in my bed in the same position. There are times I'll tell myself 'just rest' and then I start to fall asleep. My mouth gets dry (I think I'm addicted to the humidifier) and I put on the CPAP. Other times even if I don't know if I will actually sleep or not I'll start with the CPAP...

Re: Questions my doc can't answer.
Thanks again for the replies.
I'm aware of the 'zaps' with coming off of SSRI's. I've never had them during waking times or during regular sleep times, just naps. I do use head gear to keep my mouth from opening but sometimes the air can slip by my lips with little 'burps'...

Re: Questions my doc can't answer.
The naps are afternoon so more noise, light. That's about it. I took a nap today and had no 'zaps'. Today's naps was one well deserved though since I had a serious issue with my live-in mother-in-law that had my blood pressure up for about 2 hours...not fun.

Re: How many members on CPAP or BiLevel also take sleeping pills
Before being on CPAP I was already on sleeping pills. A benzo and another tranquilizer. Now I'm physically addicted. I've been on a slow taper to quit. The meds I take are
Xanax
Zopiclone
