Re: Respironics System One harsh blower startup
Aha! Both good suggestions, however this machine was 'second winded' (a bargain for the price with only 155 hours!), so I think I'll just have to man up and take what it gives me!
Cheers!

Re: Respironics System One harsh blower startup
You're right palerider, it's the 'softstart' feature that I evidently desire! I have indeed tried using the ramp feature. It does make it more comfortable than being hit with an initial 16.5cmH2o! I might just have to put up with this. It is a different sensation from the S9, but one I suppose I'll ...

Re: Respironics System One harsh blower startup
Hi Pugsy, I'm very much in the early stages of self-titration, trying to acclimatise to a higher pressure as my airway collapsibility is when I hit REM sleep (UARS). Right this moment I'm working on the following: Min EPAP - 14.5 Max IPAP - 25.0 Min PS - 1.5 Max PS - 8.0 Bi-Flex Disabled Ramp - 5 Ra...

Respironics System One harsh blower startup
Hi all, a quick question; I've just moved from an S9 Autoset to a System One BiPAP Auto (DS760). One thing that I notice is that when turning the blower on, the machine doesn't ramp the pressure up over a second or so, but rather just turns the blower straight on in a means that is quite harsh on th...

Re: ResMed S9 VPAP Adapt ASV 36037 vs 36007
Ditto! The Resmed ASV algorithm is a lot more insistent on you breathing in a regular pattern. But that's been true since the S7 version of the ASV units. Respironics allows you to breathe on your own more. I describe the feeling as a sports car vs. luxury car steering. Both get the job done. I lik...

UARS, diagnostic sleep studies, surgery and ASV!
Hello, I am wondering if people would consider the flow limitations data analysis from an S9 Autoset to have the same level of detection for UARS as a nasal pressure transducer in a sleep study? The reason I ask is, I have had a total of four sleep studies, only one of which I believe used a pressur...

Re: Can you take a look at my resscan files?
Hey guys, I've been using CPAP on/off since May, but have not had *any* improvement. Part of the problem is that CPAP is not a part-time therapy . Until you are using CPAP all the time you are asleep, it may be difficult to feel any improvement. Hi Robysue, by 'on/off' I mean using it through the e...

The forum seems to crop the images, but if you drag them to a new window you can see the full width.
I should add, my rx was for 6-14, however I have narrowed that range.

Can you take a look at my resscan files?
Hey guys, I've been using CPAP on/off since May, but have not had *any* improvement. I was diagnosed with UARS. Unfortunately I cannot afford to see my sleep specialist until the end of the year. Would anybody be willing to have a look at my data and help me out? I use an s9 and can zip up the sdcar...

If ResScan says apnea, is it an apnea?
Hey Guys, been on the hose for about two weeks now. I've finally discovered the reason for my leaks is that I must clean my Quattro FX each night. Last night was the first leak free night I've had in a week and a half. My question is, if ResScan indicates an Apnea or a Central, does that mean that y...
