Re: Another S9 Question
Keep in mind that the machine records from midnight to noon. So make sure you are downloading after 12 noon of that day. Really? Is that a user-adjustable time frame? What if this does not coincide with your sleep schedule. Let's take someone who goes to bed at 10 p.m. Does that mean the first two ...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
However, I do think the hose material on the Slimline might not be quite as tough as my 15mm Resprionics Performance hose. And that could have resulted in it not standing up quite as well to my "Annie Oakley" routine (as my husband refers to it) for drying the hose after its weekly soaking in a vin...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
I experienced no manufacturing defects with the S9, although the Slimline hose did develop small tears within 6 weeks. Not promising for a piece of equipment that, according to my insurance, only needs to be replaced every six months. Duct tape took care of the leaks well enough. @robysue, this is ...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
A clinical manuel will give you that information. Send me a PM with an e-mail address or look for member Uncle-Bob. Under his signature is a download link for the clinical manuel and also for the ResScan software. If you guys are able to switch to the auto-set the software would help you a lot. Tha...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
I was simply stating the facts that sometimes your equipment is dictated by insurance and also what company a Respiratory Therapist works for as well as the ordering physicians choice. We have excellent insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and it is my understanding that we are not limited to working...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
I don't mean to get off topic here, but is EPR the same setting as pressure, or something entirely different? Right now his pressure is set at 11. If EPR is a separate setting, I need to find out what his is set to (because whatever it is seems to be working well for now, and we would want to prese...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
The overall operation of the S9 is very quiet. The noise I hear is with the EPR which was set at 3. I don't mean to get off topic here, but is EPR the same setting as pressure, or something entirely different? Right now his pressure is set at 11. If EPR is a separate setting, I need to find out wha...

Re: Opus 360 user seeks backup mask for nasal congestion nights
When the RT was here, DH requested a mask that covered just his nose and did not have a piece that sits on his forehead. I'm not sure what you mean here. "Covered just his nose" sounds like you want a nasal mask without pillows and no forehead piece. Is that what you want? There are several masks t...

Re: Opus 360 user seeks backup mask for nasal congestion nights
Now I will say that I use the nasal pillows. I have for 2 years. I have had maybe 2 colds and the associated nasal congestion. I still used the nasal pillows. I just turned up the humidifier for added moisture (remember how nose clears up with a cold in a hot shower) and took a decongestant and sle...

Re: Opus 360 user seeks backup mask for nasal congestion nights
There are several full face masks without the forehead piece. Thanks, Pugsy. It looks like some of the ones you listed have nasal pillows. Is that correct? If so, he is looking for a style without pillows (for the rare head cold when he can't breathe through his nose adequately, in which case it se...

Re: If you sleep on a pillow designed for XPAP users...
I am looking for opinions on various bed pillows specifically designed for XPAP users. I don't use a pillow designed for xPAP use, so I can't offer you any personal experience with them. Just wanted to point out (if you don't know this already) that our host site offers user ratings and reviews on ...

Re: Feature differences in S9 models?
Let me add you can use the climite line hose and humidifier and not put any water in it. And turn the humidifier to off. That is how I used mine this spring. i am back on set to 70 degrees...and mine is using very little water. Really? I didn't know that. If the humidifier is dry, do you notice a d...

Re: If you sleep on a pillow designed for XPAP users...
If your DH has just started with CPAP, don't assume that he will need a special pillow...many here have spent many $$$ without success. Thanks, LSAT--love your username. Actually, he's been on for about ten years, but I've only recently become aware of these pillows. He does shift positions frequen...
