A new device to hopefully "cure" osa????????
Ok, I'm not much on new, untested cures for osa, but this one actually sounds like it may show promise (but it's still in testing). Anyone one heard of this? Any thoughts? Sorry if this has been posted here already. Sleep Apnea "Pacemaker" Zaps Tongue for Better Sleep: Will It Work? http://www.cbsne...

HH's: Devilbliss 9200 vs. the Fisher & Paykel HC150
I'm looking for a really good HH and am looking at these two. Has anyone had experience with both of these units that would be so kind as to fill me in on the pros and cons of each? Here's my situation. I currently have an HC150 that I use as my primary HH with an Elite S8 II. It works fine other th...

Re: Mirage Quattro Leaks/side sleeper
I discovered ( think I read it somewhere ) that the bottom straps need to be pretty tight on this mask and the top not quite as tight and you can adjust it with the gizwidget on the nosepiece. That's the way I wear mine... loose on the top strap and somewhat snug/ tight on the bottom and it works g...

Re: stand alone humidifier question
I've got the ResScan software and card reader on the way along with a couple of new hoses. I also have the HC150 on the way thank to a lot of positive comments on it. I guess if I end up changing everything out, somethings got to happen... right?

Re: Mirage Quattro Leaks/side sleeper
Where is the leak coming from exactly? Oh, and what earplugs are you talking about?

Re: disinfecting a mask
Would spraying your equipment down with regular Lysol aerosol spray do the same thing? I did this once, followed immediately by a good cleaning with dish soap and warm water. I wasn't sure if it may be harmful or not, so I haven't done it since.

Re: Trying to choose CPAP for travel
My S8 Elite II is fairly compact and is very quiet (compared to my old RemStar Pro 2) when use without the humidifier. For some reason the humidifier (3i) adds quite a bit of noise.

Re: stand alone humidifier question
The software and card reader are on order from cpap.com. Hopefully it'll ship any day now (the reader was suppose to be on backorder until Jan. 2... a couple of days ago). Anyway, the few times I've had my data checked at the clinic, I've always had relatively low leak rates (but it is possible that...

Re: stand alone humidifier question
Last night I got just about (maybe a little under) 7 hours of sleep before the tank ran dry. I over filled it as much as I could and woke up this morning with a very dry throat. It seems this is about typical with the 3i. I've got to find a solution soon.

stand alone humidifier question
I'm wanting to replace the ResMed HumidAire 3i that came with my new machine. The air in our house is fairly dry (even when we run a whole room heated humidifier at night). The 3i is set on the maximum setting. I could however use a little more humidity if possible. Plus, the 3i tends to run out of ...

[quote="DreamStalker"]You need much more humidity if you sleep with your mouth open than closed. The F&P HC150 has much higher capacity to deliver high humidity for longer period of time than any integrated humidifier. Thanks. I might look into that. As far as the experiment went, I didn't expect it...

humidity & temperature experiment
Machine: REMstar Pro2 Heat (Humidity) Setting: 5 I often wake up in the mornings with the area behind the soft palate (heading up into my nasal cavity) fairly dried out. So, I decided to run a little test. I taped a 1 gallon Ziploc to the hose. I then placed a temperature/ humidity sensor in the bag...
