Does type of mask affect air pressure?

I live in Japan. For years I've been using a Philips REMstar machine, but it started acting weird this fall - it seemed like the pressure was too strong and adjusting it did no good. (Yes, this machine has also been recalled.) In Japan, CPAP machines are really expensive because of import taxes, and...

Re: Something's wrong with my machine

Thanks for your responses. Here in Japan, it's a lot easier to rent a machine than buy one, and I'm not sure who I would go to to get this one fixed (assuming it's broken). So today I arranged to rent a machine and I have it at home now. Keeping my fingers crossed that Philips eventually contacts me...

Re: Something's wrong with my machine

It seems the calendar is wrong -- according to this, it's now 2018.
See attached.

Re: Something's wrong with my machine

Thanks for the info on Oscar. I've been wanting to find a way to get my data myself since I found that my doctor is now charging $100 to read data cards. I'm surprised to see that I'm being shown April-July as the "last three months". I'm not sure if that means the internal calendar is wrong, or som...

Something's wrong with my machine

I have a Philips REMstar Auto A-Flex. I've had it over 7 years. Yes, it was recalled, and I registered on their web site months ago, but I've heard nothing since then. Anyway, my doctor told me to go ahead and keep using it in the meantime. I've been happy with the machine for a long time. But yeste...

Re: Water in the tube

Thanks for everyone's comments! Putting the CPAP lower than the bed isn't really a solution for me, since I sleep, Japan style, on the floor! But Tokyo is pretty humid in the spring and summer, so I'm going to try doing without the humidifier for now. In the winter, though, I'm going to need it - be...

Water in the tube

I live in Japan. Here people can only rent CPAP machines, but I used to work at a US base and I own one ordered from the US. Now that I don't work there anymore, it's a pain to get replacement parts. Here in Tokyo, insulation and central heating are unheard of in homes, certainly in rented apartment...

Re: CPAP and dry cough

Just nose. I tried mouth & nose, but I always woke up with a stomachful of air!

I did turn it up somewhat, but I will try cranking it up more. Thanks

CPAP and dry cough

I have a Philips Respironics REMstar Auto A-Flex with humidifier attachment. I bought it in the US but I live in Japan. This is the second machine I've owned since I started using a CPAP 10 years ago. I bought this one 5 years ago. For the past two or three years I've had a stubborn dry cough. I've ...

Lightheaded

Lately I've been feeling lightheaded during the day. Often I feel worse when I wake up than I do in the afternoon/evening. I just talked to someone at CPAP.com about this. She asked if I've been having any sinus problems lately, and if I wake up with a very dry mouth. Yes to both. She suggested that...
