Re: [OT] Should I stop eating Wheat ??
Someone mentioned Dreamfield pasta.....is it really safe for a diabetic to eat Dreamfield? I read that it was a scam product. Not sure what to do, as I love my pasta

Sheriff, looks like you Texans beat us fair and square on Monday night. However, everyone in my family bleeds Gang Green, so watch this space!! Enjoy the upcoming season! GO JETS!! AHI numbers are consistently below 4, and other than some mask lines in my face (which I wear proudly) I feel wonderful...

Re: Nobody Can top Me!!
I spent a week wondering why my AHI numbers were rising so rapidly. In desparation, I took out all instructions and re-read everything. Seems I had begun to put on my mask upside down for no obvious reason. Once I began to use my mask properly, the numbers dropped as rapidly as they had risen!!!

Latest A1C is 6.8% (down from 7.4), and I have been told the original spike may have been induced by prednisone I was prescribed for very nasty head cold/infections in early January. I will be tested again in Late September to ensure the trend downward is permanent. AHI 30-day average is down to 2.9...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I've been on CPAP since May 5, and my AHI now averages 3.4!!! Blood pressure has come down considerably. Overall, I feel better and my colleagues tell me I look "refreshed"! A friend just started on CPAP and she complains that she cannot spend all night on it. I'm begging her to hang in there, becau...

Apologies if this has been asked before, but
Can undiagnosed severe OSA cause abnormal readings in blood work, especially sugar? In April, my GP told me that my ACI (?) was creeping up over the last year, and in April it was 7.4, which is too high. I was diagnosed in March with severe OSA and started CPAP on May 5. Told my GP that before he to...

Re: How often do you conciously wake up each night?
Only once a night to use the bathroom (due to medication I'm on). Before CPAP I can remember awaking every two hours and noting the time on my clock.

Re: Should I be concerned?
Well, the mystery was solved. I discovered that, for some unexplained reason, I was wearing the nasal pillow incorrectly. Straps that should have been behind my head were across the top, and vice versa! LOL!!!! What a difference a week makes. AHI 7-day average is back down to 4.5 AHA 30-day average ...

Re: Should I be concerned?
Robysue, I actually DID have 2 very bad nights. I actually awoke knowing it was a bad night, and when I checked the screen after breakfast, I noticed that the AHI 7-Day average jumped from the previous day's 3.8 to 8.0!! My position was all wrong and the mask was not positioned properly. I'm going t...

Re: Should I be concerned?
I only look at the screen which gives me the 7-Day and 30-Day average. I do not own any software and review the averages on my equipment. I did suffer from hip pain (too much Zumba!) during the last 4 nights and had to sleep a bit awkwardly. Also, my husband and I have to go pillow shopping soon, be...

Should I be concerned?
I started my therapy on May 5 (6 weeks ago). Pressure is 9, and humidifier is set to 3. Last week, my 7-day average AHI was down to 3.8. As of this morning, it has creeped up to 8.4. I was really frightened the other night, as I woke myself up snoring for the first time in 6 weeks after falling asle...

Re: The Daily Blowdown
Hi there!
Been on therapy for 32 days. Average AHI is 3.8. I'm thrilled (my sleep study results averaged 67!).
No weight loss yet, but I am feeling better every day.
Thanks to everyone for being here for me!

Welcome!
I'm a newbie here also. This group is so helpful, and you will not feel alone! Been on CPAP since May 5, 2011, and I'm doing well.

Re: Newbie on CPAP for 2 Weeks and Confused...
I used the instructions to find some "INFO" on my CPAP use so far. No Leaks No Periodic Breathing(?) AHI 7-day average=4.4 30-Day average=5.7 (only used for 19 nights to date) Average 7 hours/night on machine Is is OK to expect the AHI will get better with CPAP usage? I'm reading that you should ide...
