I use the Mirage Quattro FFM. I keep my hair and beard short (#2 clipper). I do notice when I let my beard grow out I can start to get leaks. Also, I had to tighten up the mask when I upped my pressure. I've not tried mask liners, but have been thinking of it just to help insure a tight fit.

Saw this article in today's SF Chronicle. Thought I'd share.

Re: Having a hard time adjusting
All I can say is keep at it. A full face mask might help. I got so frustrated with this whole CPAP thing that I ended up shelving it all and gave up for almost a year. Then my doc said do it or else. I made a point to stay on it and had a couple of weeks of incredibly crappy sleep and long periods o...

Re: Pressure of 4 cm - Subtherapeutic?
I started at 4 because of a screw-up with my sleep study. I didn't have any problems breathing with a setting that low, in fact I had already began to sleep better. I have on my own began to creep the number up and am now working at 9.5 - each increase has shown to be a step in the right direction. ...

Re: What does changing pressure do?
My cardiologist sent me off to get a sleep study and then washed his hands of it (he is no longer my cardiologist). The problem with my sleep study was the tech himself took a nap during it - I caught him because I couldn't get the remote to work for the TV. They made me sleep on my back so I never ...

Re: What does changing pressure do?
Still waking up after upping it, but I do sleep for an extra hour or so before I do. I figure over the next week or so to slowly up the pressure every couple of days and see where I'm at. The biggest difference with just the little change is that I'm only taking one nap a day (if you consider 3 hour...

Re: What does changing pressure do?
WOW.
So went to take one of my many naps this morning and upped the pressure to 6 and was promptly knocked out! I slept a solid 4 hours, only waking because of bathroom needs. My body really wanted to go back to sleep. I cannot wait until tonight to see what this small change will do!

What does changing pressure do?
Since I have a brick of a machine and no insurance, I'm kinda going at this blindly... I've had the machine for over a year, but have only been seriously using it the last few months. I have no problems at this point in falling asleep, but I only get a couple hours of sleep before I wake up and then...

Re: Saying hello
REMstar Plus M Series is the machine. The barcode on the manual says XX200HS so I'll assume that's the manufacturer's model number? I got the machine basically because it was cheap (under $500) and most of the reviews I read were positive. It was being discontinued so the data card part was a freebi...

Saying hello
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. New here and fairly new to the CPAP thing. I'm sure I'll have all kinds of questions (particularly about the software and reading info from the card). I'm without any kind of insurance so I'm drifting along in the shallow end of all this stuff as I try to figure...
