yep, hotswapped it. Been doing that (well, for the week I've had the reader) but that might explain the problem (not that a hotswap should do that... but smartcards suck). Any ideas on reinitializing the card? Or maybe shipping the bastard back to where i bought the machine from for a replacement (a...

Smartcard failure

Ugh! First off, thanks all for your help. My AHI went from 180 or so down to between 1 and 2. Still kind of adjusting to it I suppose - ocassionally I want to roll over asnd sleep on my stomach... with nthe ff mask on, that tends to grind the forehead strut right into my, well, forehead. One night I...

Adobe Acrobat will do it easy enough... well, for the page, not the "thread". Could do the thread too, really, but that would take a bit of setup I think. Is this case the pdfs would be searchable as well, so that's nice. One could always manually go to the nth page in a thread and pdf it, tho. Seei...

Hmm... I'll break out the manual. Perhaps it's a technician-set function, as it doesn't auto-on for me... including if I take the mask off while the BiPAP is running. I get the alarm beep (wish I could turn that higher...) and after maybe 15s the air shuts off, but the beep persists. I have to manua...

Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Moleskin seems a very good idea BTW... I remember using it on my heel while ice skating -many- years ago.

I never could learn to stop correctly - I'd just run into the boards

Yah, it really depends on the rating of the UPS as far as how long they'll keep the cpap running. Hrm... also, they suggest changing the batteries in UPSes on a regular basis (so it's noit impossible that an older UPS might have a battery that's a tad worn out). The power here SUCKS... The whole hou...

[quote="birdiebaby"]Someone not too long ago suggested putting some essential oil on a cotton ball and putting it near the air intake of your machine. It works great. I wouldn't think that putting anything other than H2O inside the humidifier would be a good idea....

Do not fill above this line

On my Respironics heated humidifier.... They mean it, apparently I always look at such mandates with skepticism... well, I overfilled it last night. I was extremely tired and REALLY overfilled it, to about 4 mm below the exhaust port. I was halfway asleep when I remembered that the resevoir was bone...

Hmmm. I've read that some leakage is "OK" and to be expected... not sure what that really means though, I'm new to all of this as well. The cushions on my masks look replaceable, and I'm going to go from a standard to a large for my FF mask (if for no other reason than I have to wear it too tightly ...

Battery powered units

Just a note for those who use battery powered units... unless you're on a camping trip or an oversees flight, I'd imagine these units are more geared towards power failures. In fact, they look like they'd probably be too bulky/heavy to lug around in general. IMHO, I'd suggest people interested in a ...

Both the neurologist and my internist have looked at my eye pretty thoroughly. I see my internist on Wednesday and will get some direct answers about it. Neither have been worried enough to say much of anything about it, other than it's been caused by my apneas during sleep. The gist of it was I'm n...

Been meaning to reply... Thanks for the response! Have had the machine for 1 week to the day. Because of some home troubles (Dog ran away (got him back, they lopped his special purpose off; also, my brother got diagnosed w/ chronic cluster headaches) I hadn't been sleeping too well ( 4 hours a night...
