Re: I am so upset!!!!

Obviously it depends on the shape of each person's head, but I found that you do not need to tighten the forehead straps very much on the Quattro Full Face Mask; whether I really tighten them or leave them loose, it seems like it has little effect on leaks. Instead, the lower straps are what seems t...

Re: Is it bad to be snoring on CPAP

Snoring while sleeping indicates your mouth is open, and as long as it is open while you are not wearing a full-face mask, you are not receiving your prescribed pressure, so you are probably still having apneas, hypopneas, and O2 desats. You might need to go to a full-face mask if you can't train y...

Re: Maybe it's a good thing I wake up every couple of hours...

I haven't checked the reports lately, but in general it seemed that my AHI was 1-2 higher when I would sleep on my back for a portion of the night. This means that instead of having an AHI of 2 or 3, I would be closer to 5 or so.

Maybe it's a good thing I wake up every couple of hours...

...because if I did sleep eight hours straight, I'd probably drown in my own drool-filled full-face mask. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I should worry about (ie, is it a sign of apneas) or is it harmless? And is there any way to fix it? I can't really tape my mouth shut because...

How does it all even work?

I've been thinking up a lot of questions about how my CPAP machine even works. These may sound like stupid questions, but I just don't understand. (1) How can it record intricate data such as apneas and hypopneas? My mask has no sensors, the tube has no sensors. How can it even record these? (2) If ...

Re: Snoring but AHI ~ 1

Well, to be honest, I don't know what the hell it bases it on! I have a HUGE amount of "Vibratory Snores" on my reports, but some occur even when I know I am wake. Some have said various things can trigger a "vibratory snore" event, such as coughing, moving your mask around, humming ( ), etc.

Re: Snoring but AHI ~ 1

I am having this same sort of issue...so, your wife can confirm that the "Vibratory Snores" are true snoring, and not other noises being picked up by the machine?

Re: 5 Nights Doing Better Than Expected

I get some random hissing every now and then, too. I'm not sure what it is. I think it has something to do with me exhaling forcefully, but it seems to go away after awhile.

Let us know how you feel as you continue to use the machine

Re: Anyone know what causes this?

It's no problem! A cure is good, too I was just wondering what causes it. I'm still in the early stages of treatment so I have been hesitant to mess around with any of the CPAP settings, but I will keep this in mind as I become more experienced!

Re: Anyone know what causes this?

Oh, no, it has nothing to do with my CPAP. I had this problem even before I started CPAP treatment. I don't know what it is. I've always had major sinus problems that have never really been taken care of...it is probably just something related to them. I just figured that others might know what I wa...
